Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh

wedding venues/ reception venues

I am newly engaged and trying to find a wedding venue or reception site. I would preferably like it to be between Erie PA and pittsburgh PA but a little out of this distance range would be okay. I'm looking for a unique setting, I would love an old barn rustic setting, but anything unique would work. I am a college student so on somewhat of a smaller budget. Any ideas? I also would like around 100 to 200 guests to be able to attend.

Re: wedding venues/ reception venues

  • Rustic, barn venues can have a large price tag. They're crazy popular right now. A few you could look at are Lingrow, Armstrong Farms, and Betsy's Barn. Lingrow is probably the most expensive, followed by Armstrong Farms, and Betsy's Barn.

  • Thank you, I have looked at all 3 of those places. I haven't completely ruled them out yet, lingrow is a touch more expensive than what I was hoping and just a little further away than I was originally hoping for. These 3 are definately not ruled out of my possibilities. Just trying to figure out if there are any other options around that are either unique or a rustic barn setting.
  • mayernik isnt a barn, but it's rustic and outdoorsy.  Much more affordable.  It's in the avonworth park i think??

  • I just booked the Lodge at North Park. It's definitely budget friendly, and should fit at least 100 people. I don't think it would be big enough for 200, though. It's very rustic and with the right decor, will look grea. It's an empty shell, so you can bring in any caterer, but you'd ikely want to rent tables and chairs. It is a park building, but you can get an alcohol permit. It's just not an all-inclusive type palce.

Depending on the time of year, there is a ton of outdoor space with that venue too.
  • Have you checked out Shakespeare's @ The Olde Stonewall Golf Club - it looks like a castle and is very reasonable....that is where I am having my wedding.  It is in Ellwood City.
  • I will have to get more information on The Shakespeare's as well as The lodge at North Park, Thank you for thr ideas. I am completely stressing out about not finding a venue yet that both me and my FI like and that isn't overly expensive.
