DJ help

so we had the idea of an ipod wedding with a friend MC-ing.  But now we might be thinking about doing a DJ, just in case something messes up.  Any ideas on Burgh-area DJ's that are good entertainers and are under $1000 for the night?

We are using Big Day Entertainment (from the strip district). They were recommened to me when I first started wedding planning, but I like you was thinking of doing an Ipod wedding. We just booked them last week. They have a ton of djs a lot that have been doing this for 10 or 20yrs. Ours is Mike L. he is very friendly and laid back. I am so glad we waited to book cause for the month of april they have a $200 dollars off special so we were able to book him for $650!! We went to the bridal show at the convention center a couple of weeks ago and we talked with a LethalDJServices and they start at $675. Good Luck!

I am using DJ Andy Booth, and he charges less than $1,000- I'm paying $850, although that was 2009 pricing (not sure if he has raised rates or not).  He comes highly recommended and I am very excited to work with him!

There are many other DJs recommended on the board's vendor list here:

I have to say that at least one bride on the board had a bad enough experience with Lethal DJ that they are included in our "Vendor Beware" list.  Let me know if you would like the list to see details and I can PM it to you.

We used D.C. SOUND. They were fantastic and didn't charge us any extra for dance lighting.
