2 thank you questions

1) We are working on thank you cards. One is for a family member who lives out of state, but will be in state for the next month. Do we just hand it to them, or do we mail it to them at their home address for them to get upon returning home?

2) We had another family member who was part of the wedding party. They traveled for the wedding. We gave them a gift and thanked them at rehearsal. Shouold I be thanking them again after the wedding if they did not give a wedding gift? Should I thank for them for traveling to wedding if I gave them a gift at rehearsal?

    1) I would still mail it, unless you are very close with that person and will be seeing them frequently.

    2) Personally, I wouldn't send another thank you note. Did you give a card with the gift at all? The gift was the thank you so there's no need to send them more.

  • 1. Mail it, it's so nice to get something in the mail that isn't junk mail or a bill

    2. I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I did send a thank you card after the fact in a similar situation. I wanted to them know that I did appreciate everything that they did for us on our wedding and being a special part of our wedding day.

  • 1. As long as they actually get it, I don't think it matters if it's mailed or hand-delivered.

    2.  Not necessary.
