How's the FI holding up?

Just curious how the men-folk are doing now that we're in the final stretch? I got a blast of emails this morning from James asking for the photographer's address, saying he ran out of checks, and generally stressing out about paying for all of remaining vendor stuff. On a good note, since getting his wedding ring he has been wearing it around the house and to bed at night to "get used to how it feels." LOL. He's excited to start wearing it, which I am NOT complaining about!

My FI and I are actually going through some weirdness right now because we just moved in together. My apartment is an amazingly good deal for our area, and in a fantastic location, but it's tiny. Like, about 650 square feet. But we decided to see if we could make it work for the two of us. Even though we spent a lot of time together here before, now he's here, and all of his stuff is here, and all of the (beautiful) presents that we've been getting are just stacking up the walls to the ceiling. We're both excited, but I feel like this living situation is making both of us feel slightly... tenuous. We both wanted to find a bigger place, but he wants to move from Virginia, where we are now, to Texas around January. If we moved now, that would mean A) being stuck in a year long lease, and moving twice over the course of 6 months. No way. So we're trying to make it work here. 

On top of that, I've somehow managed to get a nasty cold, and I've barely been able to function since Sunday night. So while I should be working like a crazy person to get all of this stuff in order, I'm just so sick and gross :-/ 

FI is doing an AMAZING job of whipping this place into shape, and I'm doing as much as I can, but it still doesn't quite feel like a home. We're getting there slowly but surely. He definitely earned the time off he's about to take for his weekend bachelor party. He's stressed. I'm stressed, but we're trying to just keep this in perspective.

my Fi is good..hes stoked for his bach. party this weekend (weekend before the wedding. DUMB).. but hes stepping up with buying stuff since i had bought mostly everything (the small stuff).. my Fi is also really excited to wear his ring, but hes waiting til the wedding.. he keeps saying how hes excited to match me (=

I can totally relate: James and I moved in together at the end of March and while he is trying to remodel and make his townhouse/bachelor pad more homey for me, it's not really happening. My stuff is still in boxes because there is no room, he has a huskie that overwhelms him and monopolized the living room, his kitchen is tiny and I don't feel like it's "mine" and my cat and I largely hang out upstairs. I've turned the second bedroom into a TV room so that helps bt yeah, not a long term solution

We're hoping to buy a house, too, ASAP but obviously we'll need to get our post-wedding finances in order and take a breather from things before we can tackle that next big thing.

Even though it's been rough, I'm glad we moved in together a few month's before the wedding - I don't know if I could handle both right now.

All of the FIs probably need a well deserved break after the wedding LOL.

All you ladies getting married in the early weeks will have to post pictures!

FI is definitely more stressed than I am but I also expected that. He handles it well so I'm not too worried.

@1Fairmaiden , we live in 500 sf. IT CAN BE DONE. We have to go through everything every 6 months or so and figure out what can go and what can stay, but it's worth it because we live in an awesome location. Both of us compromised with our stuff and it took us about a year to really get everything just the way we wanted it (he got realistic about what he wears and what needs to be hung so we both have adequate closet space).

We've lived together for just over 4 years, it takes a little bit of give & take at times, but I do love the "dance" we have together now.

FI is beginning to stress about being out of town for so long on our honeymoon (only 10 days) and even tho he always leaves things for the last minute while I am more proactive, the "stress" of the final push to complete things has him slightly on edge.

I have been driving FI absolutely crazy with my wedding-related stress, and we have been bickering a little bit because of that. Nothing major - I can tell that all of the planning craziness is getting to both of us though! He decided to go up to L.A. to hang out with his stepdad for a few days. I miss him but honestly, I think it will be a good little break for him. I have not been talking to him about wedding stuff at all, which I know he appreciates.

I wish I could trade places with my FI.  I have planned 95% of this wedding and he is just crusing and happy go lucky as every.  Although at least he tries to calm me down when I am seeming stressed

I think mine is secretely stressed out - a lot - about money but he is hiding it from me. He was writing a bunch of checks this a.m. when I left and I have no idea what they were for - I assume the vendors. I worry that he's completely got himself into debt because we don't have combined finances.

Probably doesn't help that I'm starving him with a last ditch juice fast LOL.

Ooh glad it's not just me LOL! So we bought a Vitamix a few months ago and here is what we do in the morning:

*Scoop sugar-free protein powder
*Two cups water
*Kale
*Two handfuls mixed greens (the organic packaged ones)
*One carrot
*Frozen organic mixed berries from Costco

Yesterday we started doing another drink in place of dinner, and I found a recipe online and then James modified it. It was "interesting" but not disgusting

*1 pear
*Cilantro
*Parsley
*Mixed organic greens
*Lime
*(I think) broccoli but maybe he did kale again instead
*EDIT: and two cups water!

I've read cilantro is good for detoxifying your liver, which I desperately need

My fiancé has been stressed!!! He was waiting on this big settlement to pull through to finish up the vendors finances. Now that its here....he has been calling vendors, paying dues, and finally getting some monkeys off his back!!! I keep asking him, "are you excited yet?" and just gives me this blank stare and smile. So I'm seriously thinking everyday, how does he really feel?? He has to feel excitement right? Or is it just us Brides??
