$60 off Marriage license

Hi Ladies, 

Just would like to share for those of you that are on a tight budget, that texas offers $60 off your marriage license if you attend a pre-marital class! I just went this pass saturday downtown and it was awesome! You have to search around to see who offers the pre-marital class for free. Because some people want to charge you lots of money for it, making it pretty much canceling out the $60 off. In my personal experience it was totally worth it, you also really get to see if your soon to be husband really cares to know how to make your marriage work and last forever. I used The Houston Marriage Project you have to put your debit card in when registering because if you don't show up they will charge you $25 for a no show, but if you go they DON'T charge.  So hope this can help some of you out there!

We attended this same workshop a few weeks ago and thought it offered some really useful tools.  Great for any engaged couples AND you get the discount on the marriage license (I think it waives the 3-day waiting period also).  The class is free (so long as you show up), it gives you resources for a lasting marriage, and you get a discount on your marriage license.  WHY NOT DO IT?

The one we attended was at a YMCA downtown, but they are at different locations.  The website should have the info.
