Monday accountability

Morning!

Just finished shoulders/bis/tris and abs.  Finally got through a solid food and workout day yesterday, too.  It feels so good to be eating healthy again.  Scale rewarded me nicely, but I'm not going to record it until the end of the week, in case I put it all back on over the 4th of July :)  Hopefully it will be extra motivation to be good this week, though!

    Weekend was a bit of a wash with all the beer I drank - but I still got in good workouts both days. Food overall was fine (minus the pubmix :) ). Homemade GF pizza last night was so good!

  • Good morning ladies.  The weeknd was good for me.  Finally got back to the gym and remembered that it saves my sanity!!

    My weekend was a horrible bust. Food was so bad. But H and I did run 3 miles at a nature conservatory on Friday and went hiking yesterday. Ugh. 

    Today I only managed a 2.5 mile run. I got the trots just over a mile in and had to high tail it back home. Hopefully H plans to stay after closing at his work tonight and workout so I can go join him. My first tri is in 12 days and I need to get over my woe is me attitude real quick.

  • Good morning!

    I was absent pretty much all of last week.  I missed a few days of work and then spent the next few days trying to catch up.  But I'm back now!

    My weight is up half a pound.  Not too bad at all since I hadn't been tracking and I know it was up a couple pounds after future sister in law's graduation open house last Saturday. 

    Really good news: I could not find the knot/any pain in my hip/IT band area on Sunday when I was foam rolling.  My 5 mile run last night was basically pain free and at a pretty decent pace!  I felt a bit of soreness after the run/while cooling down, but icing, stretching and foam rolling seemed to take care of it.  I really hope that this is the start of pain free running!

  • Good morning ladies!

    Friday was so-so. I knew I was going to be stuck in a car after work so I walked at lunch and for break. Food came in slightly under for the day.

    Saturday was the bridal shower I went home for - I could only guess as to how bad the food at the shower was for me. It was at some fancy restaurant, and the portions were small, but I know it couldn't have been that good for me (I didn't see a single vegetable on the plate!). Eating the rest of the day wasn't stellar either, after the shower I went to the Bride's parents house to finish assembling her invites with her and her parents definitely made sure we didn't go hungry. I'm happy the invites are off my plate (har har) now though. I'm guesstimating that I came in about 350 calories over goal.

    Yesterday was OK. I didn't get any exercise, but food was at least on track.

    Today I want nothing more than to get on track. My gym bag is packed and in my car, and I WILL go to body combat tonight (I WILL!).

  • Good morning ladies!

    This weekend was a mess.  Saturday I drank more than I have in a long time, and ate too much as well.  Sunday was a bit better, though there was an ice cream fiasco in the evening that probably wasn't necessary.  And I got no activity on Sunday besides a 3 mile walk, due to being mildly hung over.  It was nice to have a relaxing weekend day though, I haven't had one of those in a while!

    Today I'm hoping to get a run in and go to the chiropractor.  My back is still a bit sore following my car accident, so I'd like to get that straightened out (literally and figuratively).  If I can, I'll get a run in, and I also have sand volleyball practice in the evening.  Here's to getting back on track!

    PS I'm taking a vacation to San Francisco from Thursday to Tuesday.  So excited!!  But I also need to be good with food this week because vacation will mean a lot of meals out!
  • Hello Ladies!!!
    This weekend I did pretty well even with the drinking, sugar splurge, and small pizza. Usually weekends set my weight loss back but this weekend I came out with a small loss. I attribute it to smart eating habits (when I wasn't splurging) and great workouts.

    Yesterday I got in a 6 mile run even though I was slightly hung over. It was so strange because I felt so good. After the run I felt pretty awful and tried to rest and rehydrate. This ended up in the consumption of an entire small pizza because I didn't want to cook dinner.

    @lovelyheather - yeah for pain free running! Right now I hate the foam roller. Makes me want to cry but I know I need it.

    @choagie42 - so jealous, I love San Fran. When I was there last I walked everywhere. It gave me an excuse to eat :)

    Weekend was OK.  Ran another qualifier race in NYC (I think I'm up to 4 out of 9).  We celebrated the LGBT Pride Run complete with rainbow ice pops at the end.  It was 5 miles and hot hot hot.  My crappy eating as of late has resulted in a +4 lb gain.  I am back on the Paleo wagon as of this minute (after a celebratory crumb cake this morning in the office).  

    @lovelyheather - glad to hear your IT is feeling better.  

    @choagie - I used to live in SF and miss it all the time.  Enjoy enjoy!  Where are you staying?  If you're downtown, you can run up Market to the Ferry Building then up and down the bay.  Tremendous!

  • I pigged out at a BBQ on Sunday, but I worked out with my dog early sunday morning to try and compensate so I think I may have made out ok.

    This morning I had my greek yogurt and some "veggie straws" as a snack so I think Im starting off the day on the good foo. Now If I can just hold it that way. I have my gym clothes packed and in the car, but Im not sure if I will actually make it to the gym (on the other side of town) after Im done running my errands that I have scheduled after work. If I dont hit the gym, I promise to workout at home.

  • @Nonosgirl - good idea, I'm hoping that walking will help.  Especially since all the public transit workers are on strike...

    @Giaspo - we are staying in the Soma area, and I'll have to try out that run while I'm there.  The weather is supposed to be PERFECT running weather, so I'll need to take advantage!!  If you think of any "must see" or "must do" things, feel free to offer those up, our itinerary is still pretty free-form right now!
  • Well, I am two months into my research trip, and am getting ready to shepherd a flock of American students through the UK. I expect that walking will not make up for the Pimm's I will drink, and the treacle cake I will consume.
    But I am super excited. One more month and I get to see the mister again! (He stayed home.)

    As for the check in:
    Food: I am rolling in delicious carbs.
    Gym: What gym?

    I will have H to motivate me, and I am excited to get back on track in August.

  • @entropic That is amazing! I love Pimm's. I especially like fishing out the cucumbers and eating them. But I am a bit weird.
  • Ok ladies, I'm really excited today! I went camping this weekend. I made sure to shop for healthier foods before going, and you know what? I came back the same weight as I did before I left! I consider that a win! I feel so accomplished!

    This weekend wasn't too bad. I was under calories all weekend . And i walked to and from work both days.

    I haven't been to the gym in a while though. I will go tomorrow though.

    Its Canada day today too so we'll be heading to see the fireworks later!
