I know traditionally they are for out of town guests but I also want to send them to some people who may have other weddings or vacation plans around that time. My question is, if I don't send them to someone that I fully intend to invite, and they hear from a friend that others have received StD's, will they think they are not invited? So should I just send it to everyone that will be invited?  I hope that makes sense :)

    You can send STD's out to anyone you know will be invited to the wedding, not just out of towners. Just be aware that STD=invite, so only send them to those you KNOW will remain on the guest list.

    Since we're getting married during wedding season, we are sending them to about 90% of our guest list. We are trying to keep the remaining 10% of our guest list pretty flexible.

    We sent them to in-town guests as well as the out-of-town ones.

    I sent them to everyone on our guest list, even my cousins who live around the corner.
