Tiara??

Even though I have a million other things to worry about before I start considering my "wedding look" lol, I just couldn't help thinking about whether or not I want to wear a tiara. Looking though inspiration photos and such, I LOVE the way it looks. But my friends are telling me wearing one comes across as obnoxious. What does everyone think about the whole tiara-veil combination?

  • Not a fan. I think a jeweled veil comb is a beautiful alternative though.

  • Not a fan.  Tiaras should only be worn by royalty.

Unless you're like buying a $5,000 tiara and then not feeding your guests or something "to save money", it doesn't actually effect anyone whether you do it or not, so if it makes you happy, go for it!

Ftr: I wore a small one for my wedding. I wanted to wear it, and it had no bearing on anyone else, so why not? I looked fabulous that day, so I really don't give a duck's butt if other people didn't/don't like it.

  • I think depending on the style of your dress and your hair, they can work. The style of my dress would have allowed for one but with my short hair, it would have looked bad. There are different levels of tiara's from big to a simple almost clip like ones. Find one you like, put it on your head and see how you feel in it.
  • As long as it's a good one worn a little back on your head, it's fine. I don't like the look of the $10 prom tiara perched on the forehead of half the women on Bridezilla. But, even if you did the prom queen look, this is something that does not affect the guests. It is more important that you like how you look than someone else does (assuming the reasonable limits of obscenity, etc.)
  • Not a fan at all...but that's just me.

  • I think a small simple tiara can really make a difference.

  • Personally, they are too princess-y for my taste. When I see them, I think "princess". If that is your style/personality, then go for it. If you aren't a princess-y girl, skip it.
    This.  I don't like them.
  • tiaras aren't my thing at all. but i say every bride should wear whatever salts her peanuts and "up your ziggy with a wah-wah brush" to anyone who doesn't like it! ;P

  • Thanks ladies. I still didn't get my dress yet so I guess when that's down I'll make the tiara decision!!
  • I personally thing the style of the tiara matters. If it's small and simple it could work. If it's huge like Duchess Kate's then it looks ridiculous.

  • Not my thing, mostly because I'm not royalty. I do like the sparkly headbands. I think they give the same effect without screaming "I'm princess for a day!" My 6 year old FG is wearing a little tiara and I think she'll pull it off my better than I could.

  • I'm wearing one; my Fiance always calls me a princess (despite my not having a "princess attitude"), and I'd always refer to Big Bang Theory's Amy Fowler and state that I can't be a princess because I have no tiara. Well, we went to Disney World and he ended up buying me a very pretty tiara, so I'll be wearing it on our wedding day.
