I just returned from my appointment at Sorelle. I cannot explain how horrible my experience was!
This was my 3rd bridal shop I have been too. I have just started my search for "the dress".
#1-my apt was
@3pm and we arrived approx 10 min early. When we walked in door, place was packed w bunch of teenage girls(im assuming buying homecoming dresses).
we could not even get to the front reception area bc of the crowd of teenagers( granted it was a saturday afternoon and prob worst time to go to bridal shop, but only time my mother, sister and I could go).
after waiting 10 min(now we @ 3pm the time of my SCHEDULED apt)
someone FINALLY notices us and tell us they are running behind and to go into the part of store where the dresses are and to take a look around, they would be with me soon.
now, we in big room (filled w more teenagers by the way) and looking thru wedding dresses all bunched up in the big plastic bags on rack.
approx 10min later the stores seamstress comes over to me and tells me to start pulling dresses from the rack that I want to try on.
How in the heck can u really tell what kind of dresses are in the bag when all smashed in a clear bag AND shoved together on a rack!!
I tell he i would prefer to wait for a consultant. I have a specific "style" and 'fit" of dress I like and would rather show consultant the pic's of dresses I have with me and at least have someone help me go thru the freaking rack! I don't work there! they know the inventory, prices and what is what, NOT ME!
Starting to get somewhat annoyed @ this point but trying to remain calm and be brdiezilla lol.
next we just wander around store aimlessly looking @ shoes, jewery, veils and such....STILL WAIING!!
NEXT the receptionist now comes over and tells me we can thru rack to get started pulling dresses. I show her my folder and go over some things and we pick a few we think might work
consultant FINALLY comes to me and appologizes for the delay and says other bride taking long deciding on dress. I say fine take your time I understand.
Granted I would want a consulatnt to continue w my apt not just rush out as soon as next one gets there but REALLY, it getting a bit ridic!
30MIN PAST SCHEDULED APT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AT APPROX 3:40PM!!!!!! AND that only bc my mother finally spoke up and said something did the consultant come and get me.
we start to go back to dressing area when we all realize it just one big room that you share w/ others(dressing room private) but once u have dress on that platform you stand on is shared w other brides and also there family members are all siiting around to chime in w their opininon on how you look as well!
If I would have known that I would have never wasted my time there!
I personally want a private room .
I am a very petite girl and mostly all samples are way too big and need many many of those metal clips.
I know this bc in the first shop I went to, the consultant pulled, clipped, tugged, twisted, and clipped some more till the dress almost looked like it was made for me, EVEN with big giant clips up and down my back!
THIS consultant barley knew how to get dress on me and then I would have to tell her how to clip it(only from my experience w other consualt who knew what the hell she was doing!)
#2 several times when I would come out w dress on to show my family( and also the STRANGERS in the freaking room) i did not have a chance to stand on platform in front of 3way mirror bc other bride was on there
#3 this next part should have been the point where I just said enough and left.. as i'm getting out of the dress to put next one on( w/not much help from consultant) I AM STANDING THERE IN MY UNDERWEAR , W HANDS UP COVERING MY BOOBS! The consultant asks me to hold the dress i just had on while she gets the other one out of the bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REALLY LADY!!! in order to hold something, I have to remove my hands from my bare boobs and then stand here in a dressing room, my tits hanging out in front of women I just met, while holding a ugly dress that I just freaking tried on and hated!! Is this really happening?????
I do it anyway...the insanity continues......
#4 There now a knock on dressing room door from other consultant who here ask my consultant something about one of dresses I have in the room(by the way it only one i have liked so far and at this point would have maybe considered buying) once again I am standing half naked covering boobs w my hands so not paying much attention.
next thing I know the consultant gives dress to other consultant WITHOUT EVEN ASKING IF I WAS FINISHED!!
What if that was "the dress" and wanted to put it on again to make sure??
How do you not ask me? i didn't care but I feel she should have AT THE VERY LEAST said," do u mind if if give this to someone esle or would u like to try it on again?"
I then try one more dress, dont like and I finally decide i have had enough and go back in dressing room.
just as I am consultant starts to help take clips off dress there is other knock on door.
A lady tells my consultant that her next appointment is there and waiting. She instantantly walks out of dressing room!! does not say excuse me, NOTHING! just leaves me standing there all clipped in another dress i hate! WHY THE RUSH NOW TO HELP OTHER BRIDE!!!! WHERE WAS THE FREAKING FIRE??? NO ONE RUSHED OUT TO HELP ME! I WAITED 40MIN!
I poke my head out door and tell my family "I'm done" i start un-clipping myself and my mom comes in room and helps me out of dress.
This has been the worst experience i have had so far and would NEVER reccomend Sorelle to anyone for anything!!!!!!
FYI to fellow brides.. If u can avoid going to a dress shop on a saturday afternoon DO IT!
make sure you ask if thy have private dressing area that you can be in w ur family unless u don't mind or if they dont, DO NOT go on a saturday afternoon when jam packed!
Icing on cake is consulatant did not even give me a business card w her name when I left, So say I did want to go back(NOT!!!!)
I don't even know her name to give her commission on a purchase(not that she deserves it).
