Carbon Fiber Rings...?

Does anyone have any experience with carbon fiber rings? My FI is an electrician and cannot (should not) wear any metal. I've heard of ceramic or wooden rings and neither would hold up to the way he beats up his hands. I'm wondering if a carbon fiber ring would hold up. Judging by the other things made with carbon fiber, I would think they would. The symbolism is pretty important to me and I really don't want to keep replacing his ring. Or does anyone have any other non-metal ring ideas? From our research, his only other option is a tattoo, which he's open to if there's nothing else.

Thanks so much!!!

Re: Carbon Fiber Rings...?

  • My H works in the HVAC field.  I got him a carbon fiber and titanium ring because he is big into cars and carbon fiber is a big thing with cars apparently.

Anyway, he doesn't wear his ring to work and wouldn't even if it had no metal on it because since he works with his hands so much and gets pretty dirty he just doesn't want anything to happen to it.  It basically just gets in his way and especially with it being summer gets pretty uncomfortable when his hands swell because of the heat.

I would get a ring your FI loves and then just have him leave it at home when he goes to work.  He will still know that he is married and he will get a ring he really likes while also not putting himself in danger because of the metal.

  • I agree with PP. My FI works construction and will not be wearing his ring to work at all. We picked out one that he likes without worrying about how it would "go" with his job.
