Happy Monday :-)

Good morning everyone!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

My weekend started out with my FI suprising me and taking me to the Melting Pot for dinner. I have been wanting to go for a long time, but I know he doesn't really like fondue. However, he took me there for our 3 year anniversy (which is today :-).

Saturday we drove to Cincinnati for a friends wedding. It was beautiful, but because she had 400 people there, I only got to speak to her for 5 seconds, and that was as we were leaving. Kinda a bummer since we drove all that way, but it happens with such a big wedding.

Sunday we came home and chilled, and went to our favorite local eatery/bar to watch the UK game. My FI was raised a UK fan and went to UK for college. He basically lives, eats, and breathes UK sports (esp basketball) and has since he was old enough to know what sports are. When UK won (and are now going to the final 4 for the first time since '98) he was like a kid who was told he was going to Disneyworld. He was so excited that he didn't know what to do with himself :-)

So, all and all, a good weekend.

    I'm jealous I <3 the Melting Pot.

I had a very busy weekend.  Saturday I had a Philly Knottie's wedding to attend.  I had a great time.  Sunday I tried out some new cookies and got some stuff done around the apartment.  I can't wait to come to Pittsburgh this weekend for my dress fitting!  They should have the bustle all done!

    Good Morning!
I had a wedding packed weekend!

Thursday, FI and I went to get our favors at McCutcheon's in Frederick. We got a jam and hot sauce, I'll post pictures soon. While those were being done, we went for lunch at Volt, any Top Chef fans out there?? It was amazing! Absolutely, amazing.

Friday, I had my hair trial. I tried curls, and they totally held all day! Yay! I also tried on my dress and organized my alterations schedule, which is a little last minute. Saturday, was my shower!!!!!!!!

It was so fantastic!!!! I got amazing gifts, a calphalon pot and pan set, fancy towels, steam mop, appliances, etc., etc. My sister did the best gift! She had one gift labeled "wedding day" and their were undies for my wedding, which is great, b/c I didn't know what to buy! Then a "wedding night" bag that had very risqué lingerie, then a bag labeled "honeymoon" and there was "Just Married" undies and a beautiful black nightie, then a bag labeled "10th Anniversary" and it had long pants/long sleeve pjs and comfy socks. :) It was super cute!!

We got home yesterday and a wedding present was waiting, our good friends (FI's BM and his lady, who is doing a reading and is how FI and I met) bought us a Kitchen Aid Mixer in Green Apple! I love it! I opened it and made cookies last night. :) We could only fit 1/4 of the gifts in our car, so the rest are at my Moms. Even that quarter, it felt like Christmas at our house! So amazing!!

Sari- 400 is HUGE! Even if I knew that many people, I don't think I'd want that many at my wedding.
Amy- remind me where your wedding is?!

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

morning!  I had a weekend full of spring cleaning -tons of laundry, vaccuming, scrubbing of things... I don't like to do it but I like the way my apartment looks now.  And I bought a new bike, so I had fun riding that a little this weekend, even though it was pretty windy here.

Today I have meetings at the dorm until late, but my work day isn't terrible so yay!

jl - sounds like an AWESOME weekend!  I want to see hair trial pics!

sari - I'm glad FI was happy about UK... sports victories always make me happy for the rest of the week.

amy - wow you are almost under a month! Hope the first fitting goes well when you have it!

I know I can't believe I'm almost at a month!  It isn't my first fitting.  She should have my bustle complete and then they just have to sew my bra into the dress so they don't have to take it is a little.  I had to wear the bra to a wedding I was in two weeks ago so they didn't do it before.

    Morning Ladies!
I had a great weekend in Pgh. Friday my dad and I drove home and got in around 7. Saturday morning my mom and I got up bright and early and headed into the Strip - we got our celo bags and scoops for the candy buffet, and ended up finding 3 types of candies for the candy buffet! Only 5 types to go! After the strip, we met with my florist to make a few flower changes and they will be doing a mock up for my next visit! Can't wait! Then we went to the mall and to my hair appointment.

We went to dinner Saturday night at the Casino (my fam loves it there) then home to meet with my aunt who will be singing at my wedding to select music. She also told me that she and my Uncle will be getting us a string quartet to play during dinner at the reception as a wedding gift! SUPER excited about that! We also chose all of our reading and things so we're on a roll! My mom and I sealed all the envelopes after my aunt left and they are officially ready to go! My mom is bringing them to the post office tomorrow! WOOHOO!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sari - yeah, 400 is SOOO many people! That means they invited well over 400.... I seriously hope that many ppl don't show for my wedding! Ha!

amy - GL with your fitting! Getting close! :)

jl - your shower sounds like it was fabulous!!!! I'm sure it was great to see all your family and friends!! And YAY for the mixer... I want one so badly!

md - our apartment needs a good spring cleaning! Ha! Glad you enjoyed your new bike! Wasn't it a bit cold though this weekend to ride?!

Hi Ladies! Pretty non-eventful weekend, which was nice for a change! We have plans pretty much every weekend from here until our wedding in July .. which is just ridiculous.

Anyways - friday we went to Mad Mex with some friends.
Saturday was my mom's bday, so we worked out in the am, and then went over to my parents house in the afternoon, watched bball and just spent some qt with my family.
Sunday, we ran a bunch of errands (groceries, buying shower gifts and baptism gifts), though DF did get his guys part of their groomsmen gifts! He got them all initialed cufflinks. He's also making them each a 6 pack of beer. Other than that, just the usual sunday activities (laundry, work out, etc).

sarilynn - glad you had a nice time at the wedding. I'm sure your friend was sooo happy to see you there even though you weren't able to spend much time with her. I also <3 the melting pot!

jl - soo happy to hear that your hair trial turned out so well!! yay for curls that stay put! Sounds like you got lots of nice things at your shower!

md - thats awesome that you got so much quality cleaning done.. that's on my list of to-do's sometime in april..

    Good morning ladies,
I have to say I had a rather productive weekend so I am pretty pleased with myself.
Friday I had the day of so I did some laundry and cleaning. It needed to be done. I hate doing it but once I get started I'm good to go. It's a nice feeling of accomplishment. Friday night FI and I went to our church's fish fry. We decided to eat there instead of taking it to go and we had so much fun. Allot of the children of the parish volunteer there to get community service hours for CCD, they were waiting tables and taking orders. It was almost like a restaurant. I was just so impressed how well organized everything was.
Saturday I went dress shopping at MB Bride in Greensburg and I got my dress! Super excited to show you all pics, but my mom wanted to bring the camera to work so she could show all her work friends, After we picked the dress my mom, Grandma, and I had lunch at panera.
Sunday FI and I as well as the rest of his family went down to Oakland to watch his cousin in a wrestling tournament. It's a special invitation only tournament so, it was sort of a big deal for FI's family. I stayed to watch his cousin wrestle but left and went to MadMex with my FSIL, and then we swung back for the end of the wrestling tournament.
Sari - FI and I love the melting pot. I think my favorite part of the meal has to be the cheese fondue. It is delicious.
amy - I'm getting cups sewn into my dress to, but I don't really need them. The seamstress said to put them in that way i look like i "actually have something".
jl - I love curls, glad they were able to hold well. And I love the idea of your sister's gift to you. That is so funny.
md - I think you and I have the same train of thought when it comes to cleaning.
gmc - were did you go to eat at the casino? I've always wanted to go there but I know there are many different restaurants to choose from.
db - I LOVE the idea for your GM gifts.
