Bridesmaid Jewelry Help Please!!!!!!!

Hi everyone I'm having a big problem and I was hoping to get some opinions. I have my bridesmaids wearing clover green dresses and I picked out a light gold shoe for them to wear. I'm having a nature themed wedding and thought the light gold would go better then the silver. The problem is I don't know what jewelry to get for them now. I'm wearing a diamond white dress with silver accents on it and I'm afraid if I get gold jewelry for them it will clash with me. Plus I'm having a really hard time finding gold jewelry for them without spending a fortune and i really don't like gold jewelry to begin with. Do you think I can have them wear silver jewelry with the light gold shoes? Do the shoes and the jewelry have to match? Please help me!!!!

Re: Bridesmaid Jewelry Help Please!!!!!!!

  • The shoes and jewelry absolutely don't have to match. Just let them wear whatever jewelry they already own - problem solved.

  • if you want to get them the jewelry as your gift to them then do it gold on gold looks bad gold and silver would def work ( gold shoe) silver jewelry. i hate gold and not a fan of it unless its white gold
  • My theory is things don't have to match, but compliment each other. You can either change their shoe color to silver if they haven't already bought their shoes to bring in more tones to compliment your dress and it may make it easier to find find them jewelry. If have bought shoes, think of maybe doing pearls for the BM if it will go with the style. Else hit up a few costume jewelry shops and go a totally different option and get something that has colors to it that fit your wedding colors.

    Good luck!!

  • I have no idea what jewelry my bridesmaids wore. Let them pick out their own. Problem solved, and you can now go get a margarita.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Jewelry that they have to wear doesn't count as a gift. That's part of a uniform.

Also, I can hardly ever understand what you're saying.

  • Thank you all for your help!! I really appreciate it. They have bought the shoes already so I'm just going to go with the silver jewelry. And I am definitely going to go get me a Margarita lol :)
  • Have you thought about gold plated silver jewelry? The shoes and jewelry don't have to match, but if you'd like them to you can go with gold plated for a matching yet affordable option. Or you can go with two tone jewelry so that it brings the outfit together.
I found this two tone leaf necklace which would be super cute for your nature theme! http://www.evesaddiction.com/detail_NL10052__576__Tiffany_Inspired_Sterling_Silver_Nature_Leaf_Pendant.html

I really hope you paid them for the shoes, since you are requiring them to wear a specific pair

  • Silver jewelry with gold shoes will look fine!  I'm sure that they'll appreciate any jewelry you generously gift them with!
  • I personally wouldn't wear gold shoes, green dress and silver jewelry, but that's just my personal taste. When I was a BM at a friend's wedding, we had green dresses, bronze/gold shoes and I chose to wear gold jewelry so it would all look cohesive. To me, silver jewelry didn't look right with everything else. She had a diamond white dress and white shoes and no one clashed with her. Again, everyone is different, so go with what you feel most comfortable with.

How about white pearls? That will balance everything out, not clash with anything and pull in the white from your dress.

  • I would allow the girls to pick out their own. However, I think gold jewelry with gold or nude shoes would look best, and the gold will work with the jewel tone of green. This is what I'm imagining:-image
