RSVP's for International Guests

For our guests living in the US, we will mail the rsvp cards with a stamped reply envelope.

We have many guests located in England, Australia and South Africa. I don’t believe I can use a USPS stamp for reply cards coming from these locations. What should I do? Thanks

I know it isn't really "proper", but can you just leave the stamps off and let the guests affix their own stamps and mail them back? We only had one international guest (my sister) and that's what we ended up doing.

  • I've heard you can buy a voucher at your local post office that you can include in the envelope and your friends can trade in for postage in their country.  I have to mail an invite to Japan next week, so I'll be finding out if this is true.  If I can't include something like this, I will be emailling my friends there and letting them know if they prefer to RSVP over email to save on postage, that's just fine with me.
  • I had this same issue.  I just included stamps on the US ones.  and left them blank for the Intl ones.
  • I'm sure it wasn't the proper thing to do but I had several going to Germany and I sent them w/o stamps on the RSVP envelopes. They were actually intended to be courtesy invites. Two relatives did actually send them back, the others declined via email.
