You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.

  • PhotoPass is definitely worth it, but make sure you preorder to save money.  And since you preorder you are more likely to make sure to find them all to take lots of photos.  My now fiance and I did it on our first real vacation together to Disney last year and it was a blast.  Also if you have the Disney Visa Chase card you get access to a private photo area and you get a free 5x7 of one of the shots each day.  The photo location is at EPCOT but you must show the credit card to get in.  You also get discounts on merchandise as well.  10% off most purchases of $50 or more
  • In the Magic Kingdom, there is a Desert Party with the view of fireworks (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/tomorrowland-terrace-fireworks-dessert-party/). I havent been but some of my family had and said its awesome.

If you have a smart phone, I recommend getting an app to keep track of wait times for the rides. It's really helpful when planning what you want to go on next. There is an official Disney one (that has a bunch of other stuff on it) and some non official ones.

I got everything that I listed above, EXCEPT for Be Our Guest. I reserved LeCellier instead there, but that's not what I wanted. They told me to call up every day because people cancel all the time. Gah. I'm so dumb. I said to the girl, "Geez, people are really serious about the 180 days, huh?" She said people call on day 181 to prepare for day 180.

We didn't book one for every night because we have a rental car and we've accumulated a lot of gift cards through our credit card rewards for things like Rainforest Cafe, Cheesecake Factory, Bonefish Grill, and Flemings which we don't have any of those around where we live. We are also going to Universal for 2 nights that we're there.

Next question: Keys to the Kingdom Tour - worth 5 hours??

Aren't you in NH? Not sure how far up, but if by some chance you don't make it to those restaurants in FL, there's a cheesecake and rainforest cafe in Burlington, MA. Also Fleming's is in Boston and Providence.

Oh there's also a piano bar, Jellyrolls, at one of the Disney hotels. We went once and it was fun - Shaq was there!

That's a great idea. I'm hoping we don't need that. Fiance is a wheelchair user, I think light lines at Disney is like the only perk related to his position.

I am in NH, Burlington's about 1h45 from us. We never go that way.  I used to spend most weekends in Boston when I lived close, but now we go mostly just to Sox games a few times a year.

    Shaq!

  • Unfortunately Shipyard is now closed :( I live in Orlando and we are planning to honeymoon here as well. If anyone needs restaurant tips or things to do, I'm happy to help! I definitely suggest Le Coq Au Vin and K restaurant- locally owned and operated favorites.

Very true - though I would still recommend it. Last time I was at Disney, we found out through the app that the ride we were planning to go to next was shut down for maintenance. I believe you can also make reservations and see show times on the official app, too, if that is something you are interested in.
  • H & I are heading to Disney on vacation in November, so this thread has been tremendously helpful!  Thanks for all the suggestions!
  • @MuppetOverlord i just realized that you said October 7 - i admittedly didn't re-read all of the prior posts, but you do know that the Epcot Food & Wine Festival is happening then, yes?  I've heard only awesome things about it,and am going for the first time this year, but not until November.

I would advice Park Hopper tickets if you want to take advantage of it...so you can hop over to Epcot at lunch or dinner time any day you want to and sample the offerings!  They will have over 30 special booths set up around the World Showcase Lagoon, all from different countries and featuring indigenous foods/drinks in sampling portions.  There are also a ton of special events you can pay for at Epcot, including culimary demonstraions, wine and mixology seminars, and special meals.  Any of those things would be really fun.

You should also examine allears.net for a LOT of info...basically every menu for every restaurant, etc.  And here is a link to their Food and Wine Festival page:
