Lord Thompson Manor - Size/Capacity question

Has anyone had/been to a wedding at Lord Thompson Manor that was to their capacity (220)? If so, how was the dance floor and do you think a band would fit?

I'm getting married there in April but we are only inviting about 130 people tops. I have a friend who got married there and had about 200 guests and people complained it was too crowded. Have you been there yet? I don't know that I would have a big wedding here it's not a huge place....

Thanks!! We could go two ways with our guest list, depending on what we fall in love with for a venue. We have scheduled a visit, and heading out there next week. Good to know 200 was tight!

Overall how has your experience been with the venue? Planning etc?

I fell in love with it before we even saw it but it was exactly what we were looking for. Not a reception hall or typical wedding facility you get more of a homey feel there. Jackie does all the decorating and flowers and she will meet with you as many times as you need. I basically sent her all my Pinterest pins to work with. It's nice knowing you don't have to find a florist or caterer and you have a built in wedding planner too. I think it'd be a little tight for a band but people do it. They also have a shuttle service that's exclusive to the manor and is very reasonably priced compared to what some of our friends have paid. Basically the shuttle will run back and forth throughout the night and can even bring guests back to their car Sunday morning if they unexpectedly need to stay at the hotel. We actually had originally planned for a fall 2013 wedding but pushed it back to April 2014 to be able to afford LTM because even my fiancé loved it and he's definitely not into the planning aspect. I think another thing you won't find anywhere else is you are allowed to have an after party with close guests and friends after the dj leaves and you can stay out til 2am which is when the last shuttle leaves. Let me know if have any other questions! It's pricey but you get what you pay for IMO.
