Recent Lake of Isle brides or guests

Wondering if anyone has recently attended a wedding or had a wedding at Lake of Isles. Looking to visit in the coming weeks for a 2014 wedding, but wanted to hear some feedback on food (which is a big priority for us!), service and location.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Recent Lake of Isle brides or guests

  • We had our wedding at LOI this past October and couldn't be happier! The staff is amazing and the venue is top notch. It really was a dream day! Our guests were extremely complimentary of it, food was delicious. The food is some of the best wedding food we have had, food was hot when it came out which is a pet peeve of mine.

Honestly there is not a single thing I would complain about. Sheila really put us at ease and went above and beyond for us. And the views are very pretty with only one wedding a day. Feel free to email me, my screen name at gmail dot com. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have!
  • I've been to 1 wedding and 5 company holiday parties at Lake of Isles. Out of all 6 times, 5 have been plated and 1 was buffet (one of the company parties). Every time has been a good experience as a guest. I'm a vegetarian, and their vegetarian option is SO delicious! It's a portobello mushroom with a ton of veggies. The buffet was also very good. Only thing was the buffet could have been attended a little better (ran low too often), and I wish there were labels on the food. My fiance has been with me all 6 times I've gone, and he's gotten the beef nearly every time (plated) and he liked it.
  • Thanks for all the info! How many people did you have at your wedding?
  • And PaisleyCT, glad to hear food is consistent!

We had about 180 at 17 tables plus our sweetheart table. The room can easily hold at least 6-8 more tables and not feel crowded. When we were looking at venues we thought our guest list would be around 225, ended up being 200, so we wanted a venue that had plenty of space. We were towards the end of all the weddings amongst our friends which gave us plenty of perspective on ensuring there was enough space and great food.

We did a sit down dinner with surf & turf or chicken as the options. Both were delicious. We had several gluten free guests and LOI was so good at accommodating us. They do the cake in house and it really was so good, with plenty of customization.

Our guests really enjoyed getting away to Foxwoods and the room block process was smooth, for the most part. Our suite was spectacular!

As I said feel free to shoot me an email and I can answer any questions, I can also provide you a link to our pictures if you want to see a real wedding.
