XP: RSVP card info?

I posted this on Invites but I know we get way more traffic here and I have to get this info to the printer by tomorrow to secure a discount rate.

I realize this is a very naive question...but I can't for the life of me picture exactly what information goes on the RSVP card/how to format it

We will have a sit down dinner of 2 main entree choices (there will also be a vegetarian option, and children's option however we will have <10 kids present)

Also, what is the earliest possible date we can ask for RSVP's?  We are getting married right before Thanksgiving and apparently that means the venue needs our final meal choices earlier than normal (still not quite sure why) but I don't want to come off rude either. Thank you!

Re: XP: RSVP card info?

  • I think if the normal is 2 weeks before the date, you can make your RSVP date 2.5 weeks or 3. You might have to call more stragglers than normal, though

    Kindly respond by ________________________

I don't know if you need to include the childrens options or not. Maybe one of the other ladies can advise on that.

    KINDLY RESPOND ON OR BEFORE

    SEPTEMBER 21, 2013

    M___________________________

____ OF ____ PERSONS WILL ATTEND

We hand wrote in the total number of persons allowed on the 2nd underline leaving only the number of people coming to write in. We also hand wrote in everyone's name on the M_______ line.

We are serving plated filet mignon and chicken, so they didn't need to tell us their meal choice. If they want vegetarian they can specify the day of.
  • I don't know the etiquette of including the children's options, but I would tend to think you may want it listed so that your guests know that their child has a kid friendly option v. the entree choices. Could you possibly get 10 RSVP card with just the children's options printed so that they only go out to those with children?

Everyone on my invite list is close enough that when I receive their RSVP card back, I will call the one's with kids to ask if they want the kids plate or the adult plate. I would think most kids under 8-9 would have the kids plate.

Yes you're right I could easily call those with children...however I know if I give my goddaughter chicken fingers and she sees someone with steak, we will have a problem (not spoiled, she would eat whatever was given, but she definitely loves to celebrate with a good steak ; )

    Thanks!
  • Honestly, we're just putting the children's meal option on our card (granted, we will end up with 20-30 kids). That way the parent can decide for their kid if they want chicken fingers or if beef tenderloin will work just fine.

  • We aren't having a meal choice because of the dinner style, but are including a space for any dietary restrictions.  I know amongst are guests we have quite a few so we wanted that all set ahead of time.

I've also had friends in the past put an a line in for song recommendations to the DJ.  It was alot of fun to see people's reaction when there song came on.  Definitely not needed at all, but just something fun.
