1. What is your go to FroYo combination (yogurt and toppings)?  as much fresh fruit as I can get on there, plus sometimes a little bit of Oreos or Reese's!

2. How long is your commute? 22 minutes from my house to my desk. 

3. What do you want for your next birthday?  that's next month!  I've asked for a juicer, but we might get that earlier.  I'm not sure what else.

4. Name a book you've read recently that you'd recommend. Why?  I've mostly been reading gardening books lately, prepping for my fall garden.

5. Do you put money into a 401k or an IRA?  I should know this, but I don't.

6. Thongs or bikini panties?  it depends.

7. If you got a new pet, what would you name it?  Chigger, Snickers, Cricket.

1. What is your go to FroYo combination (yogurt and toppings)?

I usually get a vanilla base, some berries, some type of chocolate and a little hot fudge. 

2. How long is your commute? 

Today it was about 35 minutes (by public bus). 

3. What do you want for your next birthday?

My birthday isn't until February, but I think I want some jewelry. Or maybe a massage.

4. Name a book you've read recently that you'd recommend. Why?

I haven't been reading much lately (shame on me). The last book I think I read was Two Graves by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They're my favorite authors. 

5. Do you put money into a 401k or an IRA?

I don't put money into either because my grad program doesn't offer it to students (I know I could set a Roth IRA up independently, but I don't make a ton of money to save much anyway). DH has a strong 401k contribution though, so that is good for now. 

6. Thongs or bikini panties? 

Bikini. I have never liked thongs. 

7. If you got a new pet, what would you name it?

We're thinking of getting a dog, which is why I asked this question. But he/she would be from a shelter and they already have names, and I'm not sure if you can/should change them.  DH and I like formal names, like Reginald or Francesca. We are ridiculous.

8. Penises at bachelorette parties. . . funny or tacky? 

I used to think they were hysterical. As I get older though they seem less appropriate. Which makes planning such parties harder, IMO. 

9. Do you play or did you play a musical instrument (to some level of competence, not just "I picked up a guitar once") in your life? What is/was it?

I did not/do not play an instrument. I wanted to play the flute, but wasn't allowed (cost). I tried to learn the guitar but didn't commit. I did sing in choir for 13 years though. 

10. Did you watch the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo premiere last night? If so, did you get the scratch and sniff card to go along with it? 

I didn't. My co-worker is obsessed though and bought a magazine with the scratch and sniff card in it. I guess at certain times in the show they tell you which of 6 spots to smell and it is supposed to emulate what they smell on the show. Sounds gross.

I don't actually ever get FroYo so I have no response for this one.

5 minutes walking, 10 minutes on the train

My birthday just passed (it was Tuesday) but I haven't seen my mom yet and I really hope she got me the Alex & Ani bracelet I wanted (it's the paw print with the NYC skyline).

4. Name a book you've read recently that you'd recommend. Why?
The last book I finished was 'The Lake of Dead Languages'. It was entertaining and I read it very quickly but parts of it were somewhat predictable. I'm reading 'Inferno' now and it's really, really good (now that I've gotten into it).

I wear and like both.

I'd have to see it first before choosing a name.

Funny. I had LOTS of penile objects at all 3 of my BPs.

I played the trombone in elementary school and middle school. I sucked at it.

2. How long is your commute? Depends on how the MBTA is running. On a good day, it's about 25 minutes door to door.

3. What do you want for your next birthday? I have NO idea. Probably just money, so I can put it in the wedding fund.

4. Name a book you've read recently that you'd recommend. Why? I loved Bellweather by Connie Willis. It was very short, but it had a great hook (lots of cool information about trends). I loved it.

5. Do you put money into a 401k or an IRA? Yes. I wish I had a job that contributed as well.

7. If you got a new pet, what would you name it? Kirby.

I played flute and piccolo very seriously through high school, until I decided not to pursue music professionally. But I still participate in a flute ensemble every summer. In fact, I have my instruments with me at work, since our first rehearsal is tonight.

I don't have cable, and the only reality show I can stomach is Hell's Kitchen. For some reason, hearing Gordon Ramsay tell people to get the fuck out of his kitchen is a WHOLE LOTTA FUN for me.

My birthday is in about 3 weeks. I told FI I wanted a patio set for the backyard, we are going with pratical birthday gifts this year.

2. How long is your commute? Less than 5 minutes. Don't judge me.

3. What do you want for your next birthday? All the yarn? A better place to live? No more severe weather? I don't know today, I'm sleep-deprived and I have 10 months to think about it.

Why? Reshaping the Tornado Belt is a fascinating look into the history of eastern ND, including the relationships between the two biggest cities (Fargo and Grand Forks), the founding of Grand Forks, the daily newspaper, and a major tornado that went through Grand Forks on June 16, 1887. Prior to that point, the Signal Service (precursor to the NWS) thought there was a northern limit for tornadoes, and that limit was supposedly Fargo.

5. Do you put money into a 401k or an IRA? I have a Roth IRA but I haven't contributed to it in several years. Hard to on a grad student salary right now ...

7. If you got a new pet, what would you name it? It would depend on my new pet's personality.

What is/was it? I played the piano (studied classical privately for 10 years, studied jazz privately for 2 years, did jazz band for 5 years). I also played the flute for 4 years (beautiful technique, horrific tone, but I had braces the whole time). When I quit the flute in high school, I took up the tuba and played that for 8 years. Believe it or not, I pale in comparison to the number of instruments my brother studied/is studying.

I love cheesecake FroYo with Strawberry or white chocolate chips in it or White Chocolate Froyo with cheesecake bites. Sooo good!!!

Right now it's only 15 minutes but when I move in August it will become over an hour which will suck!

Usually I do flavors like strawberry and mango topped with every single fresh fruit topping they have available.

2. How long is your commute? 

Right now about 40 minutes in the morning and 50 minutes to an hour in the evening. Subject to change when school starts next month.... x_x

My birthday is in less than 2 weeks so I have a list! New clothes, rocking chairs for front porch, a third bookshelf, coffee table and sheer linen curtains for back porch, curtains for my office/library, iPod speakers, a new hard drive for my lap top. Now you guys are going to buy me all this stuff right???

4. Name a book you've read recently that you'd recommend. Why?

Uhhh... I read this back in January but it's the only thing I've read lately that I'd recommend. Testimony by Anita Shreve. I feel like she addressed a lot of hard issues in regards to rape, zero tolerance policies, privileged teens, etc.

5. Do you put money into a 401k or an IRA?

Yes, a 401k through work.

Depends on how I feel. Usually thongs.

7. If you got a new pet, what would you name it?

It'd have to be another dog so Cinders could have a friend. I'd name her Dakota, Moose, Smokey, or Bailey. Guess it would depend a lot on the dog I was getting.

I'm not a big fan. I think they are tacky. I'd rather just go out and drink. A bachelorette doesn't have to be provacative to be fun.

Yes. I started playing the trumpet in fourth grade and continued to play it through college. Haven't really picked it up since then. Sometimes when I'm bored I go through the beginner's music book for my boyfriend's piano. I have a hard time reading the bass and treble clef at the same time.

@cschiano Thank you! I'm not the "musical kid" in my family - that's my brother. He studied guitar (primary instrument), piano, alto sax, mallet percussion, bass guitar, and I think a little rhythmic percussion. Dude's got me beat by miles.

@cschiano- FI loves the name Maddox since that's a retired Braves pitcher but I like the name Whiskey so I'm sure we will go with his choice of Maddox first since FI will probably be purchasing the dog.

I don't think I've ever gotten froyo! After reading this thread I'm really tempted to try it but worried what it might do to my already special needs stomach lol

Both of my jobs are approximately 8 min from my house (which makes them about 16 min from each other)

3. What do you want for your next birthday? It's going to be my first married birthday! And will be really close to the honeymoon. So hmm maybe some awesome books. And the honeymoon counts as my bday gift, right?!

Reconstructing Amelia had me hooked the whole time. It's about a mom trying to figure out if her daughter really committed suicide. It's a little over the top bullying wise but I really liked it a lot. I also have the fault in our stars (@livleighton recommendation) in my wish list

No but I do have a retirement account. It just never gets any money. I need a real job.

Embarrassing and possibly potentially dangerous. I can just see a criminal minds episode brewing (I also don't understand females that run by themselves in my neighborhood sooo criminal minds has made me paranoid)

I started with clarinet in fourth grade. Then I taught myself flute cause my sister played it. Then I taught myself baritone cause a cute boy played it (he has since been arrested on terrorism charges so I had horrible taste in boys back then). Then I taught myself keyboard cause I wanted to be able to play with both hands. Then I taught myself trumpet. Then I learned how to play French horn in high school cause we needed more horns in marching/concert bands. I consider French horn and flute to be my two main instruments and still play them. I played flute at my sisters wedding and would love to join a community orchestra with my horn but haven't found one yet.

No. And I'm disturbed by the scratch and sniff card. Very disturbed.

I watched Honey Boo Boo last night but I didn't have the scratch and sniff card.

I love Honey Boo Boo and I am not ashamed.

Our local free paper did a review of the smells. Supposedly one smelled like baby powder and one smelled like coconut. But the other ones smelled (to varying degrees, supposedly) horrible. One person said it was burning their nose hairs.

2. How long is your commute? Like 5 minutes, if I hit all the lights. But I'm hoping to move to an new apartment (it's been a pain) and that would make my commute close to an hour.

3. What do you want for your next birthday? A trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I've never been and I'm dying to go.

4. Name a book you've read recently that you'd recommend. Why? Most recently I've been re-reading the Harry Potter series but before that I was reading Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson - it's hilarious. I was laughing out loud the whole time I was reading it.

5. Do you put money into a 401k or an IRA? No, I'd need a real job to do that.

7. If you got a new pet, what would you name it? Caboose - BF and I decided years ago that we would name the first dog we ever get Caboose after our favorite character from the web series Red vs. Blue. If we got a cat (which I don't know if we ever will because BF is pretty against it) we'd name him Tucker.
