Seating Chart Help

I have a guest list of 300 guests so I am guessing the easiest way for each guest to find their seat is to have it alphabetically on a large seating chart.  My question is which name do I put it under?  I have always assumed to put it under the husband's last name. like this:

 "Smith, John & Mandy Smith"

Now what if I don't know John.  He is technically Mandy's guest but of course they were both invited and have RSVP'd as yes.

Or do I put "Smith, Mandy & John Smith" because she is the person I know.  Please help!

  • Oops looks like I posted twice.  How do I remove a duplicate post?
  • You can't delete duplicate posts; only KGs can. But don't worry about it!

I would actually list them John and Mandy Smith. Husband's name first, them wife. If you sort alphabetically by last name, people will figure out how to look to the second column for their last name.

If you have a guest with a different last name from your primary friend, I would list the friend first, then the guest underneath and indented, so the guest and your friend know they're seated together.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
  • Oh I never thought of that!  Thanks so much for your input.
  • Most people will know to look under one name if they can't find it under the other
