So my FI and I are working on our registry for our bridal shower and were walking about BBB and have a few questions.  Can you put K-Cups for Keurig on your registry?  We have the Keurig and love it and use it everyday, which amounts to a lot of K-cups.   Had we not gotten a Keurig for a gift last Christmas (YAY!) we would've put it on our registry, but now that we have it, we could always use new K-cups, and would love to have a variety of them for when guests come over.

So can you put K-Cups on your registry or is that uncouth?

Re: Registry - BBB- K-Cups

  • It's probably not something I'd buy for you, but I wouldn't find it that incredibly odd.  I'd be nervous though that people would see the K Cups and buy you a Keurig, even though it's not on the registry.  People are silly sometimes.
  • I would find it odd if I saw food or drink on a registry. Just leave them off and purchase them with gift cards or cash you receive.
  • I wouldn't see why not. Also go to the wedding registry completion event. We won a bunch of K cups for attending ours.
  • I think if you put some keurig accessories on your registry (like the refillable one and maybe the k cup drawer), you might get some k cups because people will know you have one. But I wouldn't put the actual product on there.
  • My cousin did, and we got her all 4 boxes, but we also got her the reusable cup and the Keurig itself off her registry, so it was a package gift kind of thing.  I wouldn't buy them without the Keurig itself though for a gift

  • I wouldn't think it was weird. I'm generally one to get a few smaller items from registries rather than large ones, and this would fit that way of gifting. And if anyone gets you a Keurig assuming it was just accidentally left off the registry you likely wouldn't have too much trouble trying to return it.

  • I did put a few boxes on our registry but we also registered for a kuerig machine. I probably would not have registered for the k cups without registering for the machine.

  • What is the difference between putting k-cups on a registry and putting a bag of Starbucks coffee on the registry? Admittedly, I don't have a Keurig so I am not update on all the accessories it needs.
  • Registering for consumable just feels odd to me. FI and I have a Sodastream but we don't intend to register for the syrups. I don't think I would really judge anyone who did it, but just be more like "Huh. That's weird." I can kinda see it when it's along with the machine, but just the cups themselves doesn't sit right for some reason.
  • I think the reusable ones are fine for a registry, but I wouldn't put any sort of consumables on there. It's really no different from registering for a bag or canister of coffee, in my book.

ditto this.  I think it's weird to register for what amounts to groceries.  As PP said inevitably you'll end up with some BBB gift cards (I know we got a ton of them, not just around the wedding but for Christmas and housewarming gifts around that time as well) and you can totally use those for coffee if you want.
