Glasses rental

We are having a beer and wine reception with non alcoholic drinks as well (soda, water, coffee, tea). How many glasses should we rent? The number of our guests plus a few? Or like cupcakes you're supposed to order 1.25-1.5 times the number of guests?

I'd say even 1.5 times the number of guests is not enough unless your venue provides some facilities to clean the used glasses. I wouldn't like to drink different drinks from one glass (especially not beer and soda) or use the same glass for several hours.
