Too cold in October for outdoor wedding?

I was thinking about an early October wedding, most likely October 4th, or the weekend after.... Do you think it will be too cold to have an outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception? Also, after the reception we would like to have a bonfire  for any of our guests who wish to keep partying. I just don't know if it would be too cold for all of that?

  • As long as you have a backup plan in case of bad weather, you probably will be ok for the ceremony. It's Northeast Ohio, you could have the most beautiful day, you could end up with a monsoon or a snow storm.

For the bonfire, depending on the venue and formaility people may hang around for it. Bonfires aref un, but just have a plan for who will be building and taking care of fire. Depending on what you & groom are wearing, you may not want to do it yourselves.

Usually, early October weather is beautiful and warm. You should be fine. Regardless of the season, every outdoor wedding should have a Plan B. You never know!
