Well.  I think I'm rolling through my check list.  I didn't think I'd be checking off so many things.

  1. Church
  2. Reception Location
  3. Photographer
  4. DJ
  5. Girls dresses

Now we just need little things....

  1. Limos
  2. Florist
  3. Favors
  4. Invites
  5. Bridal party gifts
  6. Shoes

    I have 248 days to go, and I really feel like I don't have much left to do.  I downloaded an app called WedHappy, and it feels great checking things off!

    DONE:
    • Ceremony location
    • Officiant
    • Reception Location

    • My dress
    • Florist
    • Photobooth
    • Invite printed
    • Card Box
    • Hotel Block
    Still to do:
    • Order cake
    • Finalize BM dress order
    • my shoes (order placed, they're supposed to arrive on Friday)

    • Hair & Makeup trials
    • Transportation

    Sounds like you guys are doing great with planning!

    My done list:  Church (Note: the ceiling is falling down.  Yes, really, It's closed right now.  Hopefully it'll be fixed in time for the wedding! I won't panic until the end of the year), Reception venue, Photographer, E-Pics, Bakery, Florist, Hair/Makeup Person, Dress, BM Dresses, DJ/Photobooth.

    To do: Transportation, Hotel Block, Shoes, Gifts.

    Seems like it's going ok so far :) I'm pretty laid back about the whole thing-- every time someone asks me how planning is going, my response is: "...Am I supposed to be doing something right now? I hope not because I haven't done anything in a while!"  We're not DIYing anything, so that helps.

    I am the same way! I've been asked how my wedding planning is going and I've responded with "It's going well, all the big stuff is done, just have to do the small stuff.  Of course, the question I have been asked more recently is "Have you gotten your dress." My response: "Yes....and It's already hanging at my parents house...." They all get a stunned look on their face and I just smile.  (I'm wearing my mom's gown but I'm leaving it for a surprise for everyone other than the bridal party and a few close family members)

    I've got 222 days. There's hardly a dent in my list, but it's been picking up speed the past couple of weeks :) 

    Done:  
    -chapel booked 
    -priest committed and pre-marital counseling started 
    -reception venue booked 
    -hair for me 

    In progress: 
    -hotel blocks 
    -photographer 
    -guest list 
    -save the dates 
    -alcohol 

     Still to do: 
    -dress
    -veil, shoes, accessories 
    -groom's attire
    -bridesmaid dresses 
    -groomsman attire 
    -catering 
    -flowers
    -centerpieces/reception decor
    -DJ 
    -engagement pics 
    -invites 
    -cake 
    -gifts 

     Wow it seems like I have nothing done compared to the rest of you!

    You're not behind! I'm in a city so vendors book up REALLY FAST.  That's why I had to get moving.  Plus, my dress is taking six months to come in  Argh.

    I think I saw you post a dress pic on another thread...it was gorgeous!!  Were you the one with the Alvina Valenta dress?  I thought someone on that thread mentioned the designer, but I can't remember now who it was.  There was one AV dress I was really interested in trying on, but it may be too late now, if it's going to take 6 months :-/

    I'm not too worried about time just yet, but I know I need to get things moving...especially on the photographer, caterer, and DJ.  I haven't decided yet if I'll try to diy the flowers; I have a few aunts who are really good at that kind of stuff and want to help.

    I also live in a part of the country where vendors book up fast. FI and I also knew we wanted a longer engagement, so we've had plenty of time to research and book vendors. I started with my venue, then photographer and DJ. Everything else just fell into place after that.
