Photography Prices

I am getting married in May of 2014 in the Asheville, NC area. I am trying to get an idea of what other people in the area have payed for a photographer. I have found a photographer whose work I really like and this is what she has quoted me. It seems reasonable from what I have compared, but I would love to know what others have paid: 

Basic Package: 

up to 5 hours of photography

• disc of all edited images 

• engagement session 

• $2000

Just one photographer. I REALLY like her work and based on other photographers in the area of her caliber I think its a reasonable quote.

That sounds reasonable. Packages for my photographer start around $2600.

You should check out Just a Dream photography. They're located in Charlotte, but their base package is 1500 for two photographers for 8 hours. They are also super reasonable on travel. We are getting married in the outer banks and all they ask is that we pay for their hotel the night before and of the wedding (which will be an extra 120 dollars). It also includes the engagement pictures and all edited pictures.

They have already done our engagement pictures (traveled to Durham for no extra cost) and we love them. Our pictures are amazing and Brittney and nick are great to work with!

I think that quote is pretty reasonable.  Just FYI, my package was:

engagement session
rehearsal dinner
2 shooters wedding day
2 shooters ceremony/reception
photobooth at reception
photos on disc
+ 1 large bridal portrait
$3500

I felt like we got a really good deal because we bundled everything.  We signed a contract for the entire package when we did our engagement photos.

Check out J Darren or Gambol Photography, they give you more time for about the same price.

That's pretty good. They can go as low as $1500 and as high as $3000 here.

She has done weddings in the Charlotte area, but shot a beautiful wedding at Lake Lure I believe.  I'm using her for my July wedding. She includes an engagement session, bridal shoot, a disc with all the rights, and she got a fantastic eye! All for $1000, there is no one better for the price!  She can also bring along a second shooter!

I'm using Treasures by Teresa in Graham, NC. We will only be her second wedding (my FI sister will be her first) but her shots are amazing and it will only be about 1300 for the wedding, no time limit, two photographers, engagement session, and bridals. Her and her husbnad are the photographers and only got into photography within the last 4 years. I actually grew up with her kids. They are absolutely amazing.

Also, check Will Page Photography. He is based out of Wilmington, but will travel. His packages start at about $1800.

I'm using Abbie Blair with Southernly Studios. She's based out of Rock Hill, SC but she travels pretty far. She's charging me $700, which includes 7 hours of coverage, a second photographer, engagement session, and a CD with all pictures taken and copyright release.
