Reception: Bring own food AND alcohol

I am having a horrible time finding a place that will allow us to bring our own food and alcohol. Has anyone had their reception at a venue that allowed you to bring both? or just alcohol? I've been searching but have yet to find anything. Preferably close to Waterford?

Re: Reception: Bring own food AND alcohol

  • Addison oaks allows you to bring alcohol but not food(I believe this is true for all oak management properties), oakwood chapel/ reception in oxford allows alcohol but not food, van hoosen farm allows you to bring food but no alcohol Is allowed on property
  • Goldner Walsh on the west side of Pontiac allows any vendor, including catering and bar. Its not far from Waterford. We had a wonderful day there. We provided all the bar items and our caterer provided the bartender.
  • If you are having under 100 people, the venue we used works. Actually, you HAVE to bring food and alcohol because it's just a building. It's Greenmead Village in Livonia, at 8 Mile & Newburgh Rd. You can't make the food, you need to use a caterer, but using a gourmet grocery store catering (like Holiday Markets in Royal Oak or Joe's Produce in Livonia) can keep costs down. Their food was excellent, they both have fabulous chefs.

  • The Belle Isle Casino, where I am having my wedding, allows you to bring in your own food and alcohol.  However, the only thing they provide is table and chairs, so you have to bring EVERYTHING else in yourself.  So far the administrative staff has been very easy to deal with.  They even let me make modifications to my contract.
  • Lake Nepessing Boat Club in Lapeer. I can't wait to have my wedding there.
