Runners or overlays??

What looks better runners or overlays. undecided i will be getting them made.

It depends on a number of factors in my opinion.

What's your venue? What kind of look are you going for? What fabrics would you be using? Round tables or square tables?

here is pic of my hall, tables will be round, colors pink,orange, aqua, flowers will be hot pink roses,hydrangeas and peonies in blue mason jars, thinking of having orange chevron runner or overlay. i want lots of color. will have hot pink chair sashes. The look i am going for is fun, modern and hip, non-traditional . I like creative bold color decor but i dont want it to look like color overload.

This is my opinion but if you are going with chevron pattern then do a runner- an overlay would be too much. If you decide on solid, do an overlay for stronger color. I love overlays on round tables but some patterns can be overbearing. Lovely venue by the way!
