Ok, I think I found the one. Originally it was between a lacy Column and a gorgeous- but too pickup-y - fit and flare. I'm so glad I asked you all your opinion, so I'm putting myself out here again. 

I found this dress... Allure 9018. I think it's stunning, but I might be crazy again. You decide.

Sandrapaula: It was about $2000 if I recall. definitely the high range of my price point, but that little bit of sparkle (not easy to see in the pics), the lace, the colour... to die for.

Ok so here's the thing. Woke up this morning, looked at the dress pics, and had 2 thoughts: 

1) I am not ACTUALLY that tall. Will this shape look funny on me at 5'5" (a full 4 or 5 inches shorter than the dias I'm on)?

2) Is the band at mid-thigh too harsh looking? I.e. does it look like 2 different dresses sewn together?

You're being overcritical.  It's absolutely stunning on you and definitely the best out of all three!

1) It doesn't matter how tall you are (I'm only 5'0, so I had the same concerns); a good seamstress will know what to do to make everything fall in the right places.
