Unity sand comes when?

Ok so I'm trying to get the final things together dose the unity sand come brfore or after the exchange of the vowes? HELP!

#1, Ask your pastor or officiant. He or she may have specific requirements. It's also possible if you're being married in a church that "unity sand" won't even be allowed.


That being said, I've only ever seen it done after vows/rings.
