AW: my shower is today!

My shower is today and I am so incredibly excited and nervous! And of course FI was unable to sleep last night and his tossing and turning kept me awake a large portion of the night...the bags under my eyes are horrible...thank goodness for the magic of makeup, lol!

I'm also nervousness because our moms are meeting for the first time today, actually this is the first time his mom is meeting anyone from my family. Which is kind of crazy.

Has anyone else had showers yet? How did it go?

Mine is today too-eeeeeek!!! I am a little nervous too, I am going with my mom who is way more outgoing than I am, so hopefully she can help me talk to anyone there who I don't know (FI's mom is hosting and it will be lots of their friends/family). But they have all been amazing to me so I am sure it will be ok!

Mine is in a week and it would have been the first time any of his family met mine... but they can't make it.  So, they'll all meet for the first time right before the wedding.  No stress.

Enjoy your shower!  I'm sure it will be lovely!

Ooh fun!! I just finished doing my hair and makeup. I literally never wear it except on special occasions, so I hope it turned out ok! I am sure my mom will tell me if it didn't...lol

Mine isn't unil September 7th. My FSIL is having a baby two weeks before our wedding so we had to make sure to space out the showers. She's my pastors daughter and I'm marrying the pastors son..if we want get gifts from church folk, we thought we shouldn't hit them up all at once. Hers is next Sunday.

I'm not going to have a shower, and our families haven't met either. They all will be meeting at the rehersal two days before the wedding.

I had mine a few weeks ago. I was so nervous walking into mine!  Luckily my MOH had a glass of wine waiting for me! Just make sure to say hello to everyone and thank them for coming.  After that relax!  Have fun.  These people are there to celebrate you guys!

My shower was wonderful except I don't feel like I really got to say more then hello and goodbye to people...other then that it was completely overwhelming the generosity of people. I haven't been registry stalking and didn't know that all but 2 discontinued items from our Kohls registry were bought and about 60-70% of our bbb registry was bought...it was crazy! Took a dodge journey and a pontiac aztek to get it all home!

We didn't do any shower games which was fine with me but because of so many gifts my guests seemed bored during the opening so that would be my only complaint.

Also I think if I were to do it over I wouldn't have allowed my cousins (aka hostesses) convince me to "just let us throw one giant shower for all sides and be done with it)...it was about 60 ladies and was just too hard to have personal time with everyone.

Oh wow, and I thought there were a lot of people at mine!

FMIL and one of FI's aunts hosted, and about half of the 20 guests were people I didn't know or had only met once. We had lunch, played 2 games ("why do we do that" and "what's in your purse") and then opened gifts!

I also feel like I didn't get a chance to have long conversations with everyone, but definitely said hello and thank you to all. It was great fun, especially the delicious cake!
