Another clothing thing

What are the cool kids wearing to bars these days?  My cousin got married in Montreal.  They are having an at home reception from 630-930 on a Saturday night in a reserved room in a bar.  This is not any sort of sit down affair but more party.  Is this dark jeans, nice top, fancy shoe territory?

And I really need to get back to this wedding- she's from Hong Kong, they live in Chicago.  The wedding was in Montreal- dim sum affair (apparently the staff ended up putting cases of beer on the carts too), full RD, rooftop wedding.  I'm rarely sad to miss a wedding, but this would have been spectacular.  They are doing a hm in Italy, then going to Hong Kong for a reception and having a reception here.  I'm jealous.

I would think that your outfit idea is a good one.  Does the bar have a website so you can get an idea of the atmosphere?

I'd say yes, depending on the bar. If it's out in BFE, you may be overdressed. 

Their wedding/honeymoon travel sounds awesome.

It's a normal sort of bar in downtown.  I just noticed we were supposed to RSVP 5 days ago.  Blergh.

There is always story potential when you combine my cousins and alcohol. 

Where do you find attire HOT!  Especially cheap since I'll probably never wear it again.

if you look at Kohl's (since I know you shop there already) - I'd say that J-Lo or Rock &Republic would be your best bet at something "club/bar" party appropriate (although the R&R is probably more casual than you're looking for)

Nursing boobs and that dress do not mix.

I like that top Nola, and that idea, but that cut would be terrible on me.  I'm learning I need something that comes in at the waist or hips.  Something straight down like that just looks like a tent.

 both are fairly inexpensive, could be worn again, and have a boob friendly top and a contoured waist.

I was looking at that first dress then thought- "I have options besides Kohls."

@6fsn - I was just at Polaris on Saturday shopping for jewelry, so I hit up all the cheap places and a couple not so cheap places.  H&M has decent tops for cheap.  Ann Taylor Loft, Bebe, a couple little boutiques.  Also, I have good luck at Macy's.  Treat yourself to a little shopping day!

I wandered through H&M and wasn't impressed, but I also wasn't looking for anything specific.  Maybe I'll sneak in a kid free trip Saturday am.
