    I have severe allergies too. I have had my throat closed, never ending sneezing due to allergic reactions. I understand your concerns.

  • I appreciate your wanting your son to be in a peanut-free environment, but I don't see how the school can enforce a policy to that effect unless every single student and employee of the school, not to mention just about everyone they live with or might come into contact with, voluntarily avoids peanuts and related products completely 24/7, including in their homes and other areas the school has no control over.  It's true that some schools do have peanut-free policies, but even there they can't control every possible scenario that might lead to your son coming into contact with peanut particles, or it might not be practical.

    I think the most you can do is start helping your son learn what he has to avoid and do the best you can.  I'm sorry if that sounds discouraging; hopefully there won't be a problem.
