    First of all, you never "have" to get them a gift. 

    Are they helping out in any way? If so, I think a card would be a nice gesture. I.e., "Thank you so much for offering your support and love in our marriage, etc."

    Our parents aren't paying for anything, but we are still getting them gifts.
