Wedding centerpiece - bubbles in water

Hello. I am doing my own centerpieces. The three different size vases with submerged flowers. I did a trial run and I used water from the faucet. BUT......the water becomes all bubbly. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the bubbles?

I have also read that once you fill a vase, you need to cover it.  Bubbles form as air builds as the temperature (of the water) changes from cold to room temperature.  If you cover the vase, much less air gets in as the water temperature changes/settles.
