What to do with my Nephew?

i have two nephew and a niece i helped raise ( total nephews are 9 plus 4 nieces ) and i want those three in my wedding .... well my Groom has a niece and a nephew sooo i thought two flower girls and possibly two ring barriers ... BUT the problem i have is my oldest nephew i raised is 9 ... now he could go on the grooms side OR  since i was raised by my mother i thought i would have him walk me down the aisle and when asked who gives.... both him and my mother would say me or whatever ..... but some people think this is weird. is it weird to have two and two and have him walk me down?

  • I myself wouldn't have him walk you down, and definitely he shouldn't "give you away" (that, if done, should IMO be done by an adult, not a 9 year old kid), but he could be a bridesman, groomsman, or usher, or reader.

But he doesn't have to stand with your FI just because he's male.
  • Do the children want to be involved?

You should ask them what role, if any, they would like.

DEFINITELY do not have a 9 year old "give you away". That's weird.

I don't see anything wrong with your nephew escorting you down the aisle.  However, if you choose to do so, I would just skip the "who gives this woman..." part.  Shit, my own father walked me down the aisle and I skipped that part.  My father just shook my husbands hand, gave me a hug and took his seat.  Easy peasy.

This too.  If they don't want to participate, let it go.
