Undergarments!

2»

Re: Undergarments!

  • I own a bevy of thongs, so I've got no issues with wearing one.

But, am thinking I'm gonna get some kinda cute purple panty and bedazzle the shit outta them.

    But...hah..maybe I should va-jazzle under that?!  *gigglesnort*
  • I'm okay with thongs, but I just need something. The spanx I will be wearing have the awesome clasp at the crotch (and I have done a trial run with it at work) and it doesn't completely suck when I need to pee.

@prettybirdy27 if you're wearing spanx that are shorts, lines aren't really an issue. if you are wearing spanx that are briefs, they might be. (I am. I haven't noticed any lines when I'm in my dress)
  • My dress is pretty low maintenance - so I should be able to lift and pee...woo hoo!

  • I had every intent of wearing a bustierre under my gown but when I tried it on with the dress it ended up adding too much bulk, so I am not wearing any support for my upper half.  For my lower half I have a full petticoat which covers any color/panty lines/ or lack thereof so I may decide to go full commando like @EmilyTork just to make it easier for bathroom breaks.

Coming from somone who used to work at VS, I would always measure women and have them try on their technical size, but then would also give them a bra in both their smaller and larger sister sizes (i.e. 34D is 36C is 32DD).  Most of the time women found that the larger band and smaller cup was more comfortable and was more flattering under a shirt. I personally use my larger sister size.  It also varies drastically at VS if you are getting a push-up vs demi/full coverage bra.  At least it did when I worked there years ago.

Also good reminder... get fitted once a year for a good bra, you might not think you need it, but your body changes shape over time even if you don't gain/loose any weight.

  • I'm actually pretty sure that it will be EASIER for me to take my dress off than to try to scootch it up over my hips to go to the bathroom with it being a mermaid style. I need to find a white/silver pair of skivvies that will match my lingerie for that night.
VS has way cute Bride panties. A good friend bought me mine when I got engaged.

  • For those still trying to figure out undies, or if you just like VS, I just got an email from VS that their new Body by Victoria panties will be on sale for only $5 until Aug 18 (in store only)!
    Just thought I'd let y'all know :)
  • i brought my dress to the store to try everything on
  • @rustytammy have you tried Torrid or Hipsandcurves.com? They have some fabulous panties that are plus sized! I ordered spanx online and was in such a hurry I didn't order the kind I wanted. I went shopping last weekend with my Mom here in town and found the kind I was looking for (full coverage) for 5 bucks ($38 originally) at a local boutique. Also scored some for the bridesmaids as well.

  • @beckyk0385 ~ I use to shop exclusively at Torrid.  I tried their bras and panties and they just always cut me funny or the band size said 42 and it really was like a 38/40.  I'm not worried about undies, it's the strapless bra that I need to start hunting for.  :-)
