Las Vegas Destination Wedding!!!

Hi everyone!

I have a budget of about $20k and thought Vegas is a great place to go to get married. Seems like you can get a lot for your money out there!  Anyways, I am looking at the casinos and what they offer. I want a ceremony and full reception (not in a restaurant), with dancing, throwing of bouquet, all that! Most packages seem to say '2 hour reception' which I think is not enough.

Has anyone ventured with catering with a casino for a reception? Did you go with a ballroom?  I might have 50-100 guest in Oct 2014...

Any other recommendations?

    Congratulations!

For starters check out Vegas Groom, he has a lot of great information on his website http://www.vegasgroom.com/

We are doing a ceremony and full reception at the Mirage (4 hour reception).  We also looked at Caesars, Flamingo and the Wynn.  Even if they say 2 hour reception, you can usually add hours on.

Are you planning on taking a scouting trip to look at some of your favorite choices?

We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

We had ceremony and reception at Caesars. We had our reception in one of the ballrooms which happened to be near the Venus Garden where we had the ceremony. We were assigned a catering manager which was our reception coordinator. We were allowed outside vendors for decor, floral, linens, but you can use their in house. There was no fee to use the ballroom, but you have to use their catering.

We are having our ceremony and reception at Paris (October 2013). We are extending our reception by 2 more hours and all we have to pay for is the bartenders extra hours. It think it is $75 per hour. We are having 62 people come to ours so we have the Versailled Ballroom rented out. It was $600 for the hall. It's going to cost us about $7000 plus tax for the reception. We are not getting fancy with decorations and flowers because we are coming in from Canada and won't be able to take the flowers home with us afterwards. The hall really doesn't need it though. Its so ornate and beautiful on its own. They are letting us use the complimentary centerpieces for the tables which is good enough for me! Congrats on the wedding and happy planning!

I've got 65 adults & 5 kids coming to my wedding at Platinum Hotel (Sept 2013). It's not a casino, but most guests are staying at casinos and don't seem to have a problem with a non-casino, non-smoking hotel.

The catering is more expensive per head than some of the casino packages, but they include more (like ceremony for no extra charge). We're renting out the whole pool deck for 5 hours.

They have suggested vendors, but there's no fee if you want to use your own. In fact, I've used very few of the Platinum vendors and everybody has played VERY nice with each other.

    Hey there!

I am in vegas now scouting out locations and am debating over Mandalay Bay's Ballroom OR Seascape Room that is in the shark Reek for the ceremony.

The Seascape is small...so we would have to squeeze a dance floor in there..a little bummed about the size. A regular ballroom is huge, but would require a TON of decoration.

    Lots of work ahead!!
