Rustic Wedding Venues

I do not have a date picked out, we plan on having our ceremony at my family's farm in Peninsula, OH. Looking for a reception venue with lots of character and very unique. Barns, lodges, wineries, gardens, parks etc.100-150 people. Somewhere in Akron/Canton area. Any ideas? I've been looking, I'm just stumped. So far my favorite is Happy Days Lodge in Peninsula, OH. Preferably indoor with an outdoorsy feel. Ohio weather is so unpredictable.

Thanks!

Re: Rustic Wedding Venues

  • Stan Hewyett Hall? Or there is that Farm near penisula, not sure if they do private events (sorry can't think of name of it).  Not familiar with any wineries in that area but if google ohio wineries, there are a couple of websites out there that will give a listing of all wineries in different areas.

I don't ski so I'm not familiar with the facilities, but any chance that one of the ski resorts down there does private off season events? Don't forget to check with local golf courses (public & private). But I have to say, I've seen Happy Days Lodge, and that is very nice. One nice thing is that there is a fair amount of grassy area so if weather permits, you can do stuff outside. Only thing I would check on with that location is depending on time of year you plan to do it, their heat or a/c accomodations. If you are having a summer wedding you want a reception venue that offers a/c.

  • I decided to crazy & googled, rustic venues akron ohio and found this website. Hope it helps.

  • Thank you! I have not looked at this website yet so I'm sure it will help! Stan Hewyett is beautiful but pricey. So far Happy Days is my winner, I just like to know what else is out there :) I don't ski either which people find crazy since its down the road from me, so it wouldn't feel personal having it at Boston Mills Ski Resort.
Thanks again for your suggestions, every idea helps!
  • What kind of price range can you afford?
