Morning randoms

I'm glad that there's new pics of Prince George, because the rest of the news is just shit.

One night down, three more to go.  The kids were really good last night.  I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and them to turn rotten while H is gone.  Luckily, we have guitar lessons tonight, so that will be a nice distraction.  This week is a good warm-up to H being gone this fall for several weeks.

DefConn and I had our first real back and forth conversation yesterday.  It was about snacks, of course.  ;)

FaceTime is awesome.

I dread being alone with my kids overnight.  I'm either going to spend the first week of October drunk or crying.  There is NOTHING going on this week.  Schools are starting back, library time is suspended, I'm on a spending freeze, 6let's bike is broken.  WTF am I going to do with them?

Soccer practice last night was hysterical- 12 little kids trying to do jumping jacks was worth the price.  Plus 6let naming the team "Gold Rockstars."  The other parents were laughing and jumped on it before the other kids.

What am I going to do this week?!?!?!?!

I'm done Christmas shopping for my nieces and M2.  I'm waiting on 6let's bday to finish him (except his santa gift).

  • Hanukkah starts on THANKSGIVING this year. Yeah. Thanksfuckinggiving. I realized this fact when I was in the shower this morning. Luckily, I already have a few stuffed toys put away for her. Now we can add in a couple more things and DD will be set.

I have four things for DefConn for Christmas and Twister Dance (or something like that) for my nieces.  We know what we're getting MIL and FIL (a deep freezer) and we're close to deciding on the kiddo's big gift.

I feel good about this Christmas.  We just need to keep up the momentum.
  • Christmas!?!!?  What is this you're talking about?  Oh yeah...something that happens in 4 months.  You people are crazy.  And I'm a little jealous you're so all well prepared.  Just a leeetle.

It's official, I am one shopping cart from being the dirty homeless person I truly am.  I haven't showered since 11am on Sunday.  And I don't care.

I really hope this virus takes a hike soon.  I have a half coming up in ohhh...12 days and I am not feeling prepared.  *shrug*

H came home last night after his 4-12 shift and I was all "mmmhmmm...zzzz".  :)

@Oface4eva- I say I have more time than money so I preplan and buy when I can.  I found a 3 pack of zodiac earrings at Kohl's for $1.62 a set.  They had all my niece's signs so I bought them. I also found a deal on the scooter we're getting m2.

  • DK and I worked out last night after taking a week and a half off, so I'm pretty much exhausted/sore today.

I know our Christmas shopping will be done with gifts sent before Dec 15th, because we're leaving for our cruise that day, and getting back on the 22nd. I get something early if I see it, but I don't go out of my way to shop in August,
  • Christmas- ha! Depends on when this baby decides to come I suppose but I suspect we'll be doing cash in envelopes and some random shit for DS.
  • FI's side of the family never tells us what they're looking at/interested in for Christmas. FI's SMIL is the most difficult- she's in animal control/animal shelter work, and last year we paid for her to get the special license plate advocating adopting/spay/neuter pets (something she's wanted to get for herself but claimed not to have the time to do it). She still hasn't used it, or the gift certificate for mani/pedi and massage we got her for her bday a few years ago.  FI wants to just make a donation in honor of each member of his family to an "adopted" fam that otherwise wouldn't have food, clothes, or anything to give their kids. While I think that's a great idea, I told him we should tell them of the idea in advance, and I'll also make some baked goodies for everyone so they get something more than a "oh hey, we donated in your name!" type gift.

May get them all some personalized ornaments?
