Photographer hasn't responded in months

I got married in July 2012 and Alicia Cohen was my photographer. She was very flaky with her responses and communication during the entire time we communicated. In the beginning of May 2013, she confirmed that she was placing the order for my wedding album. She said it should arrive in 4-8 weeks. 

It still hasn't arrived. I've contacted her via email, txt, phone call, facebook, messaging......... nothing. Her voicemail is full and I haven't gotten any response.

I don't know if something is wrong or family issues or what - but isn't this a ridiculous? What am I supposed to do at this point? Our contract states that "Print orders shall be delivered at most within eight weeks of order being placed. Album orders are delivered no more than 12 months of orders being placed."

We haven't gotten our print so she's past due on that point. And as for the 12 months for the album... that's also ridiculous but I can't act on it until May 2014.

Please, please... does anyone know where she is or have any advice for me? I'm desperate :(

I saw Alicia at Target about 10 minutes ago, in the cereal aisle.  It was one on Main Street.

I just looked at the link @tawillers posted and WOW are those reviews horrible.  How does she still get business?  Doesn't anyone read the reviews online?  Granted there are some 'nice' reviews but the fact that all 5 of them were written on the same day is beyond fishy to me.

Brides just need to do their due diligence when looking at vendors, they can have pretty pictures on their website but you need to research them online to see how they are when it comes to performing their work.

Yeah that's odd.  Her FB page hasn't been updated in over a year and her blog on her website hasn't been touched since February.

Is there an address on your contract?  You could try sending her a registered letter.

That address on yelp is residential and doing a reverse look-up isn't for anyone named Alicia or LN Cohen.

I've used BBB before.  They contact the business and tell them that there was a complaint and require a response or threaten to give them a bad score.  I've gotten money from a company using BBB before.  I know what it does, thanks.

if the OP cannot contact the business/business owner, what special thing would BBB be able to do to contact them? that is the point people are trying to make. she'll have a lot better luck going in person to the place of business, and perhaps a lawyer after that.

Whitney - My husband and I are having the same problem. Her vm is full, her phone wasn't accepting calls at one point this month, it's just insanely ridiculous. I've gotten two texts from her since our photos were due (cd and link, not even an album) and they both indicated that the cd was returned but the pictures were 'so pretty'. Well, I wouldn't  know because we have been waiting since Aug 2 (per contract). Going to start talking to a lawyer. My friend who used her in Feb is also not getting a response and is waiting on her album. She had a good idea of going to the local news to try to get a reaction. At this point she has been paid in full and we have no leverage in getting her to respond.

All - I had my wedding in November 2012. I paid for the entire package but we have not received our wedding album (which is paid for). Has anyone seen her or talked to her recently?

 

I'm not thrilled with my overall results and experience with Alicia to begin with, so it would be nice to at the very least have the wedding album we paid for. Any help anyone can give would be GREAT!
