Hey girls!

So I want to save money with flowers.  I'm going to try not to be very picky with my flowers and just try to find the cheapest.  Any suggestions?!

There is always the DIY route with Sams Club or Costco as well as some local florists offer DIY packages now. I thought DIY but didnt want the work on my wedding day. So I finally found a creative florist who was able to do everything w/i my tiny budget of 11 wedding party members and 15 reception tables. I booked with Blumengarten. The consultation with Jim and his soon-to-be daughter-in-law was great.

I have a very small wedding budget so I have decided to just have flowers for me to hold, and then non-flower centerpieces.  I am planning on having my bridesmaids hold fans or perhaps clutch purses instead.

I was a little hellbent on having a lot of flowers and I knew I wanted red roses. I was so clueless on every aspect of flowers from costs to what's in season. Meeting with florists really helped me. I was told that sticking to one flower for everything keeps the cost down a bit because they buy in bulk. Also, roses are very affordable options but because florists, grocery stores, etc. mark up the prices of them for valentine's day and other holidays, people tend to assume they are expensive. If you are like me and want a lot of flowers, I would suggest finding one flower that is in season and using that for everything. Definitely talk to a florist. We are probably going to go with Carrie Ann Powell (not official yet) but she was great and so knowledgable. If you do not care for a lot of flowers, there are a ton of non floral centerpieces you can go with!

We went with Chris Puhlman flowers, the owner is Karen, and was excellent to work with. Our wedding is very small, as our our flower needs...but I just thought I'd throw out the recommendation if you're going to price a couple places. She was excellent to work with and very knowledable (Especially for this girl - I know nothing about flowers! lol)
