Cosmo, wrap around terrace suite

Hi Everyone, I havent been on here for quite awhile b.c Fiance and I had postponed our planning for a lil while and i found it hard to come on here without getting down about the whole thing, BUT we have now set a new date and are now planning again!  Very excited!

We were wanting to do a Suite Reception and were trying to keep in closer to mid strip for easier access to where our guests are staying/ Flamingo and Caesars...   We have been researching the cosmo wraparound terrace suite and think it might be perfect for us.   We are going to have approx 20 people  and we just love the Idea of the balcony/terrace overlooking the fountains/or strip...  Has anyone had their reception here or has heard of how it went?
Our Ceremony is going to be at Flamingo,   but there suites definitely arent roomy enough we actually checked them out on a scouting trip.   Thanks for any feedback you have :)  Our new wedding Date is April 3 2014

Re: Cosmo, wrap around terrace suite

  • Hi! I am also doing a reception in a wrap around suite right after you on April19th!! I have not been to the hotel but after talking to the hotel you will want to request a suite in the west tower. The east tower is over the very loud marquee. Are you intending to use outside vendors?

  • This isn't super helpful, but I'm doing my reception in the Cosmo wrap around in October. I'll update after!
  • Rachel are you using The hotel's catering or outside vendors? I'm going to use Masterpiece and my understanding is while it isn't allowed they do cater there quite a bit. I can't help but be nervous though!

  • Hi ladies, I have been to the hotel and its just simply beautiful  ;)  and very classy !  We are definitely using outside vendors, we are hoping that works out as well! fingers crossed!  We were told by two different catering companies they have done it many times there before!  I was not too worried, just b/c we have a smaller crowd of people....Shoebunnie, do you know if the west tower still have awesome views of the fountains?    Rachel1837 please update us on how it goes!     anyone else with experiences at the cosmo?

  • I've stayed @Cosmo many many times and I attended a party in June using the Wrap Around suite. There was around 20ppl fit comfortably, and the balcony was a plus with seating outside, so there was plenty of room.

Both the West and East have views of the Bellagio fountains, you just have to have to request that view. The West tower is closest to check in and the taxi line. It is also the towers to the spa and beauty salon, and Wicked Spoon. The bamboo pool is @the West tower, it's the quieter pool, it's not the one overlooking the strip. The East tower is easy access to the strip. It's the tower where the Blvd pool overlooking the strip. The chandelier bar and restaurants are closest to the East tower.

I'll post pics as soon as I can access them from my phone.
  • Daisy which caterers are you thinking about using?  I'm going with Masterpiece but because the weekend we want is very popular the minimum is double!!  I love their menu but I also love having money in my bank account so I'm torn.

Jccswl thank you for the information regarding locations!!

  • We aren't using the hotel for catering. We're keeping food light and doing cake and champagne, so I'm not TOO worried, but I still have that fear that someone will try to bust us. Haha!
  • Thanks for the info Jccswl, thats very helpful!   We are working on qetting some quotes from 2 or 3 caterers,  masterpiece is one of them, but they were def more pricy!   I can def let ya know if i find a good quote as well shoebunnie ;)     we are booking a cpl vendors this week, photographer and MUP/HAIR,  its hard making definite decisions!

  • I'm using Keith Kaplan for photography and Pampered Brides for HMU. I really like the app menu with Masterpiece but you're right it is pricey. I'm still looking around. I will let you know if I find anything good! I spoke with Mike from Sauced but his menu is very limited.

  • sounds great and i will let you know! , We are using Joey Allen for photography and Harmony for HMU.  We have the Wrap around suite booked and reserved 2 nights!  cant wait ;)

  • I haven't stayed in the hotel, but we booked the terrace wrap around for our wedding night next year.  If you're a AAA member, I booked it through the marriott website (it's technically a Marriott resort) and was able to get 10% off the lowest rate on Cosmo's website that way b/c marriott's site has the AAA rate as an option.
  • I'm thinking of joining AAA just for the discount. Does it matter which plan you are on?

  • Please post reviews ladies!! I'm thinking of doing and insuite reception here in 2015!  Thanks.
  • Definitely will post reviews :)  I dont live in the united states, so i cant benefit from the AAA membership...but oh well, we actually got the rooms for half price just b/c we booked in the middle of the week instead of weekend :)

Nope, just that you're a member.
  • Hello! I just had my wedding september 1st 2013 and I used the wraparound terrace suite as my reception venue. 1st I really cant say how much i wouldve had to pay for the room because I used to work for the marriott and i got a friends and family rate for a 3 day stay. We rented 4 high top tables and 8 barstools plus linen from rsvp rentals and the Cosmo has a strict policy when it comes to bringing in items that are perishable, more than 2 bottles of liquor and anything thats coming from an outside vendor so we had to work miracles with the bellmen and had to tip accordingly. We had about 30 people in our party and couldve fit about another 15, I would not recommend more than that in the room. Also since it was a holiday weekend we were told we had to wait until 8pm to check in to our suite ( if we wanted the ones that overlook the fountains) we decided to not  wait and got the second best view which is facing the strip on the south side. We met all of our vendors in the lobby and brought our items to the room ourselves. Overall we had a wonderful time and the hotel is absolutely beautiful but we also had luck on our side. If you have any questions just let me know!
  • Hello

So what exactly is the Cosmo policy for outside food and drink?  Also, is this normal policy for Las Vegas hotels?

We are getting married next month.  Although we are not having the reception in the room I know that we will be doing some entertaining in the room so maybe we should re-think?

    Thanks

  • @lia221 which tower were you in? We are already having to anticipate tipping the bellmen but I do not want to under tip and make it an issue!! What do you suggest? We will have a caterer ( looks like Firefly) and Freed's will deliver the wedding cake. Thank you so much for sharing your information!! I read a while back the west tower has elevator guards but the east does not. I'm thinking maybe it would be easier to arrange delivery in the east tower. What are your thoughts?
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • we stayed in the east tower and yes indeed it does not have a elevator guard. we tipped between $40-60 per trip depending on how banned the contraband was ;)
  • @lia221 Excellent thank you!!  I wanted the West tower to be away from the Marquee and the noise but I prefer noise over elevator guards.

  • this is a very bad picture that i had on my phone but just to give you an idea of what i did with the high tops...
  • @lia221 I love the decorations!! Did you travel with the vases? I'm trying to figure out how to decorate. Did you have room for a first dance?

  • For all you fellow Warp Around Terrace Suite brides, I found this great video last night that does a nice smooth walk-through (no shaky hand cam movements). It really help me better visualize the layout and better plan for decor.

  • wow Lia221  thanks for the info and feedback!  by the sounds of it I am a little more worried now re:  renting the bar stools and tables ... probably kinda hard to hide that stuff!   Our caterer said they have been there many times with food, wonder how they got around that?  ill have to ask!   Your decorations/dessert were beautiful!  do you mind sharing what vendors you used?    We were definitely going to decorate ....does anyone know where to get some great wedding decorations?

  • I did travel with the decorations, but we drove and i made sure to package everything nice and tight :) having a reception is def do-able at the cosmo but just make sure you leave room for error, i went in with an open mind and everything worked out at the end. I had the hubs in charge of getting the rentals up to the room and i dealt with all the food items to share the "stress" lol we both worked miracles but at the end got everything up to the room. Also having the room on the east tower masked the music that we had in the room since the Marquee club over powered our noise level ;)
for the cake pops i used "viva las cake pops" they only have a facebook page but dealing with her was seamless and the pops were beautiful and delicious! for our wedding cake we went with "nothing bundt cakes" because i have had them before and i just couldnt trust a vendor without trying the cake lol they were equally delicious and moist :) for the rentals i used "RSVP rentals" we had rented a truck and we picked the items up and brought them back with no issues. All the other decorations were purchased either at Ross or Marshalls and i just boxed them up and stored them in my garage until i had to use them.
P.S: you can request up to 6 keys to be made and the hubs and i both mistakenly and individually asked for 6 so we ended with 12 keys to the room that we gave out at after the reception to "key" family members to escort the rest of them to the room. I hope all of this helps because i sure lurked plenty and got a lot of info from using this forum :)
  • Wow Lia221, so glad everything worked out for you! I had to look up the lady who does the cake pops as well b/c they were beautiful!  were they very expensive?  Your hints/tips that you have shared will help us on our big day and I thank you immensely for that!  and did i mention your pics were awesome!  you should be an event planner ;)

  • I will definitely be getting extra room keys! The FI and my sister will be in charge of the vendors while I am having my HMU. I feel kinda lost right now, I've ordered everything, arranged everything I can, and now I'm just waiting for stuff to arrive and to get married! I'm still not 100% on catering but we are still liking Firefly.
