When was your wedding??: June 18, 2011

How many guests did you invite/RSVP yes/show up??: We invited 270 people only 160 RSVP'd yes and only 147 people showed up

Did you have rain or sun on your day? Was it warm or cold? It was cloudy all day, but didn't rain until we were outside getting pictures it downpoured for 20 minutes then it was sunny and humid. We had to cut our outdoor pictures at the waterfall short :(

Who was your favorite vendor(s)?: Valley Visions Videography! I can't wait to see our final video! Amy and Denny were great and were with us the whole day!

Was anything the day of underwhelming?: The day was perfect! I couldn't have planned for a better day! I didn't turn into a bridezilla, but right before walking down the asile I told my aunt that I didn't wanna do it! haha I was so nervous being in front of all those people!

What would you do differently if you could re-do?: I woul dhave choose a different photographer =( I wasn't too happy with our final pictures.
What was your favorite small detail of the day?: I loved how my pink and orange lighting, flowers, cookies, etc came out! It was so beautiful!! I'm glad I choose Pink and Orange for my wedding colors.

Did you change your name?: I sure did!!

What's one piece of advice you have for future brides?: Make sure you take time out with your new husband and take in everything! I don't remember being with him too much during the night because we had so many people talking to us it was crazy! I wish we would have gone to a place just the two of us and jumped up and down! =)

What is one thing that changed when you got married that you didn't expect?: Nothing so far ;)

When was your wedding?? 10/1/11

How many guests did you invite/RSVP yes/show up?? 225/181/173

Did you have rain or sun on your day? Was it warm or cold? Rainy and cold (I think it was the coldest day YET since Spring).

Who was your favorite vendor(s)? Photographer (Caitlin Thomas Photography)

Was anything the day of underwhelming? I think everything was just the right amount of "whelming!" The day went fairly smoothly with no big bumps or tragedies. Just little silly things... like only three people sitting at table 13. I think I had some supersitious guests!!

What would you do differently if you could re-do? I would have stopped and taken more personal (not professional) pics with family/friends at the reception. Despite it raining, I also would have asked for just a couple more outdoor pictures from my BP.

What was your favorite small detail of the day? I think my favorite small detail was my ceramic ring dish that I had made by an Etsy seller. It just says: "M + H" and "10.1.11". I didn't plan "ahead" for many things, and I planned a little in advance to have this dish for pictures the day-of.

Did you change your name? Will be soon, yes. Can't wait to being the process. *sarcasm*

What's one piece of advice you have for future brides? I know it's hard not to, but don't stress over every tiny detail. No one will remember what the chair looks like that they're sitting in (don't stress over chair covers), no one will remember what kind of glass/cup they drank out of and no one will look to see if you spray painted every inch of your table number frames. Focus on marrying the love of your life and enjoy one another, your day and your guests!

What is one thing that changed when you got married that you didn't expect? Not too much! We've lived together for three years already, so there weren't any surprises there. I would say the one thing so far has been just calling him my "husband." Sometimes I still go to say, "FI." Oops!

When was your wedding?? 9/24/11

How many guests did you invite/RSVP yes/show up?? 165 invited/102 yes/100 showed (we did invite a majority of guests who were out of town, so this may not be representative of typical responses)

Did you have rain or sun on your day? Was it warm or cold? sun and perfect warmness:) Much better than the expected rain and upper-50's!

Who was your favorite vendor(s)? This is a tough one - jeweler, TCC, and photographers...and dj, can't leave him out bc he made it so much fun!!!

Was anything the day of underwhelming? Not at all - I just let the day unfold knowing it was what I planned and if it didn't go that way, it didn't really matter anymore. Everything was perfect! Even the things that didn't go quite as planned.

What would you do differently if you could re-do? I didn't get pictures of only me and the bridesmaids bc the pictures were rushed from the ceremony being delayed:( We also didn't do hands/ring pictures, but at least this one we could fake.

What was your favorite small detail of the day? Prepare for a tear-jerker! While getting ready, my sister gave me 2 things: 1) a penny with a cut out cross and my birth year that one grandmother used to carry to bingo as a good luck charm, 2) a pillow made out of a blanket square that my other grandmother had crotched while she had cancer and never finished putting the squares together to make the blanket. My sister had been hanging on to these things since they each passed ('99/'01) and waiting to give them to me on my wedding day.
The other small detail that I loved was that during the ceremony, DH and I both could not stop giggling! We were just so happy to finally be in that moment!

Did you change your name? Not yet, but I will be as soon as I figure out what I need to do.

What's one piece of advice you have for future brides? Organize and spread out all of your planning efforts throughout the entire engagement so you don't stress so much towards the final countdown. On the day of, just let the day happen and don't sweat mishaps:)

What is one thing that changed when you got married that you didn't expect? Nothing! We have been living together since last summer so really no difference other than getting used to calling him my husband or saying that I'm married - still weird!

I really liked my photographer, Veronica Varos, but my favorite vendor was probably Palate Partners/Dreadnought Wines. They provided all of our alcohol, delivered and picked everything up and didn't send us a bill until aftwerwards. They made providing our own alcohol really easy.

It was probably when my Mom sang the Father/Daughter dance, and my dad realized that she was singing it. It was a suprise, and just really special. I really enjoyed having a sweetheart table, too, because Mike and I could have a moment together. And I loved when Mike saw me walking down the aisle.

Use the boards. I was able to stay within my budget, because I asked a lot of questions and did a lot of research on these boards and on craigslist. I got a lot of good vendors at really resonable prices.

When was your wedding?? 10/8/11

How many guests did you invite/RSVP yes/show up?? 198/166/160

Did you have rain or sun on your day? Was it warm or cold? Beautiful sunny day and 80. It was a perfect fall day.

Who was your favorite vendor(s)? Our band was AMAZING!!! We got so many compliments on them and it was really important for my husband to have a live band. I'm so glad we did!

Was anything the day of underwhelming?

What would you do differently if you could re-do? Make sure we got more of our pictures that we wanted. I'm sad that we didn't get some group shots, but mostly everything was better than I could have expected.

What was your favorite small detail of the day? My husband leaned over when I got to the altar and told me I looked beautiful.

Did you change your name? I will after we get back from our honeymoon...my passport still says my maiden name and we booked my flight in my maiden name.

What's one piece of advice you have for future brides? Stay calm. I was surprised how non-stressed I was before the wedding. My husband did help A LOT with all of the small details. I think that helped me stay sane.

What is one thing that changed when you got married that you didn't expect? How often he calls me his wife...I love it!!! <3
