Seating at the Old Stone Church

Hi everyone!

FI and I are getting married at the Old Stone Church and I have questions about the seating...

There are 2 aisles and 3 sections of pews, so no "Bride Side/Groom Side."  How do I go about letting guests know that they can sit wherever they want?  We don't plan on having ushers.  (We are reserving the first row of each section for family.)  I don't want to put up a sign that says, "Sit wherever!"

Should we just assume that people will figure out that they can sit anywhere, seeing as how there are 3 sections, instead of the usual 2?  Or should we have my brothers, who are doing the readings, direct people when they walk in?

Thanks!

  • People will figure out that they can sit wherever they'd like. We didn't have ushers and didn't have a sign, and there wasn't an issue with people seating themselves. The church my sister got married in was set up the same as yours, with three sections, and the seating without ushers also worked out fine.
