Riviera Maya El Dorado Royale Casitas review

If anyone is hesitant on booking the El Dorado let me just say this....pack your bags and GO!
DH and I stayed at the Casitas for a week after our wedding. We had a little bit of trouble in the beginning with the concierge (our room wasnt ready, I had jeans on and it was HOT...so I was grumpy that I couldn't change)
Here is a tip..TAKE YOUR MARRIAGE License!!
We didnt think we would need it and the one girl was a grumpy wedding nazi lol  I even emailed her pictures with dates on them, right in front of her, and H had his ring engraved..so definitely make sure you have your paperwork for a free upgrade!

The resort was immaculate! There was always tons of stuff to do (snorkeling, bike rides, tours, excursions, fire shows..etc) or you can just lounge by our private pool. Our casitas was a swim up..but we were on the 2nd floor with an awesome view. The room was super clean, staff was very, very, very friendly and room service was always on time and delicious. I do recommend doing the culinary theater as well. It was the most delicious meal we've ever had and lots of fun to see the chef prepare it in front of everyone.  The resort says that men need to have dress pants on for the dinner but we saw some people in jeans and H wore shorts. We got in with no issues.
If you upgrade to the HM package you can enjoy the candlelight dinner as well for free 99 :)  They offer a surf and turf for extra free or a salmon which is included. Stick with the salmon...it was delightful!

Overall we had an amazing time on the trip and won't go anywhere else. Definitely worth the $

Re: Riviera Maya El Dorado Royale Casitas review

  • That's where we're going for our honeymoon and I am SOO excited! Question though - I've heard the beach isn't very sandy and there aren't a lot of water sports activities. Is that true? Did y'all do anything outside of the resort and what? We're looking for some things to do.
