Outer Banks Rentals

We are planning a beach wedding and using the Mark Twain House for our reception venue. My question is to anyone who has had or is planning a similar type of wedding. How did you handle things like chairs, tables, linens, dishes, etc? Although the local rental companies will provide almost anything, they seem to be expensive. In some cases, like table linens, it almost seems more cost effective to buy the items. Also, if we rent chairs to use at the ceremony and the reception, do we get two sets or move the chairs from one place to the other? I realize all of these decisions can be different for each couple, but I would like to hear how others have handled it.
