I couldn't log into my account so I had to use another one and miraculously now I can get back on. Thanks, TK.

Sadly, with the start of the school year I haven't been on here as much. Whenever I try to get on here, I always get interrupted and can't share in the fun :-(
So here's my belated AW post about my engagement and proposal from last weekend :-)

Last Saturday we decided to take advantage of the nice, humidity free weather and go to a summer festival in downcity Providence. This festival/event, called WaterFire, attracts loads of people every weekend and it can be pretty crowded to walk through. WaterFire is basically fire pits raised above the Providence river at Waterplace Park. It looks like this:

We walked around and saw some of the food vendors, performers and artisans on the outskirts of the river and tunnels, and then walked back to the basin of the river where they hold boat and gondola rides. My SO (now FI!!) asked if I'd like to go on a ride since it really was my last weekend out. I knew something was up immediately, because usually I just pick up an alex & ani bracelet from a vendor at WaterFire and that's special enough for me! I said sure why not and we were able to go on the ride in 20 minutes for 10pm. We walked around again and my SO took a pic of me right before we got on the ride (not like my SO lol):

We got on the boat ride with about 10 other people and begin floating around the raised fire pits and other small gondolas with performers dressed in elaborate costumes. It was very romantic, especially with the ethereal and dramatic music that they play to set the "mood". It's like half spooky/half romantic lol. For a moment I thought "OMG he's gonna propose!" but then I remembered that it's just a nice night out and to enjoy it. The boat ride ended in the basin of the river and the Captain was escorting people off. We were in the back so we had to wait. As he asked us to get off, I got up and felt my SO tug on my arm. I turned around thinking I dropped something on the floor, but there he was on one knee, ring in hand. He was very short and sweet because he knew everyone was looking (like a couple hundred people) and we were definitely in "our own moment" alone on the boat. As I turned around the Captain congratulated us and so did a hundred other people as we walked up to the street level. I was definitely in shock and surprised that everything happened so quickly! Here's a pic of my ring:

I'm very happy with the ring and how the night went. I was able to enjoy the surprise and my FI is very proud of his proposal...we're still on cloud 9 a week later!
