My MOH dropped out of the wedding a few months ago (long story but we basically don't speak anymore). One of my bridesmaids, whom I have known since I was 2 (our moms were best friends until earlier this year) keeps saying I need a new MOH. I have told her I think it's improper to ask someone as a kind of consolation, second place MOH. She disagrees. This bridesmaid is throwing a shower for me, which is wonderful, and she is planning my bachelorette party as well. I've told her she doesn't need to do that but she insists. I feel guilted into asking her to be my MOH since she has brought it up on several occasions. My mom would be furious but she would just have to grin and bear it. She has a problem with this bridesmaid because she kind of invited herself into my WP in the first place. Back at Xmas time I was showing her and some of her family members pictures of myself in my dress and my, at the time, MOH in her dress. She then said "Well I haven't officially been asked yet!". So I, feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place, was like "Uh... do you want to be a bridesmaid?".
So do I ask her to be MOH or leave things as is? I am going to have her sign my marriage license but I think by her incessant hinting that she really wants the title.
