Wedding Woes

Morning!

How was the weekend?

Ours was pretty darn good.

Saturday morning was soccer- my parents met us there.  6let had a ball.  His team and their parents are awesome.  I felt bad for Tatum on the other team though.  Her mom was not so awesome.  We went back to our house and DH and I walked away.  We went to campus and walked a bit, had lunch and a BEER in a place that required ID to enter.  Then we walked past one of his projects and over to his buildings.  I met 3 of his operators and got to see his office.  Then had ANOTHER beer at a tailgate place.  The game was hot and a blowout, but it was still a blast.  It was alumni weekend and seeing TBIDTL doing a quad script Ohio is a pretty awesome sight.

Sunday DH took 6let and M2 to Dicks.  They were running around the little track and another kid joined them.  Their mom yelled at them, called them a hooligan, and glared at DH.  DH and the salesperson laughed.  They were the only people there.  Then he took them to see Planes which they loved.  Max and I ran errands for 6let's party.  I bought brandy.

This week is the first week of preschool and getting ready for the party.  I can't believe he's turning 5.

Re: Morning!

  • Weekend was OK.

Friday,  I ended up working super late because my modem went out early in the day.  My dad came over for dinner, which was nice.

Saturday, normal errands/chores.  A's sister and her BF came over for dinner.

Sunday, everyone was tired and cranky.  DefConn refused to nap, but was a butthead all day.  We were supposed to go to my company picnic at the zoo, but everyone was in such foul moods that we skipped it.

  • @mrsconn23- at least the colts won?  DH picked them in his survivor league.  He was going bananas flipping between the Colts and the Browns ad trying to play with kids.
  • OMG, that game was ridiculous.  They've got their work cut out for them.  What a mess.
  • I really didn't do anything this weekend.  And I should have.  I just couldn't muster up the motivation.  I was really annoyed at DH most of the weekend and the rest of the time I lounged on the couch.  I'm glad that fall is coming (I'm so over this heat) and that lots of 3 days weekends start up in the fall.
  • This weekend was pretty sporadic.

Had a short run on Saturday.  Then ran some errands, had a great tasty breakfast with my parents and gma (who are extraordinarily rude).  Brought H lunch, sat around a bit with him.  Helped him fix the lawn mower, and did a few things around the house.  We managed to get H into the shower after double wrapping his leg with saran wrap and then one layer of press n'seal.  That was kind of scary, but he's clean...or was on Saturday.  Maybe we can get him another shower by tomorrow....we shall see.  Then we wandered out and got a wireless doorbell and then maid rite.

Sunday was literally the laziest day ever.  I parked myself on the couch around 9:00am and really didn't move much until about 4:30.  I skipped dinner with my family because my dad is so not accommodating and I'm tired of going and then being upset, so I just skipped.

Also, I'm contemplating a huge hair chop today.  I've been kicking the idea around a bit for about 4 months now...and I think it's time.  We shall see.  H will probably have a little sad, but it's my hair damnit.  I refuse to allow my hair be my security blanket or be other peoples' choice.  SO THERE!
  • Friday, I got off work a little early.  DH picked me up and we went to see his sister for her birthday.  We stopped for dinner on the way home and then caught up with the DVR.

Saturday was my nephew's (10) first football game at 10 AM.  We totally underestimated the heat and humidity - ufda!  There was no shade or breeze and after 2 hours we were just done.  The team was pushing water for the boys and they did ok but it was definitely not football weather.  We went home and cooled off in the AC.  DH went to work later and I headed to the mall for a few things.

Sunday was church, football and laundry.  Lots of laundry.  I started about 12:30 and ended at 9:30 PM, but it's all done.  DH worked and I watched more DVR between loads.

It's a short week at work.  I'm off at 2:30 on Wednesday and heading out for a weekend wedding in IL.

  • My weekend highlight was an awesomely successful garage/facebook sale.  Friday night, my mom put all our big stuff on FB and sold most of it to her friends - so that was cool - then we managed to sell almost everything else at the garage sale on Saturday.  We only brought a handful of items back into the house, and sent a big box to Goodwill.    It's a hugely satisfying feeling to get rid of stuff and have money in hand.
  • Friday was my day off - so got Botox (for my migraines) and had some awesome food/did some shopping in a newer development near the neurologist's office. DK decided to attend a homebrewing class, so I picked Wolverine up from school and took her to Monkey Joe's for the first time. She LOVED it - she did really well on the larger bounce toys, a pleasant surprise, since I thought she might be too little.

Saturday was a lazy day at home. DK and I got to play Diablo 3 on the PS3, so that was fun.

Sunday I was up early with Wolverine, and did some chores around the house. Worked out in the garden for a bit (in like 100 degree weather, yuck) - spent the rest of the day taking it easy - I wasn't feeling too well post gardening.
  • I hope the botox works wonderfully (the uberdocs said it helps a lot of people; we looked at it)
  • Weekend was too short.

Got some stuff done around the house, worked out twice on Saturday once on Sunday (FI bought a total gym and I actually love that contraption despite it taking up half the length of my living room).

Vegged out Saturday watching football and knitting scarf for FSMIL for Christmas, complete with kitties attacking the yarn regularly.

Anyone got any suggestions for birthday presents for men? FI's bday is in 8 days, he can't think of anything he wants/needs, doesn't really need anything (don't want to buy just to give him something, but want to give him more for bday than just a card), and we're on a budget. I've suggested dinner out at location of his choice, but the only other thing I can think of doing is painting a picture of a rooster (he collects rooster figurines on occasion, and has mentioned interest in a painting of one).  I'm not buying him more underwear- he got that last year amongst gifts for bday and christmas, but it was all good stuff!

  • Favorite specialty beer?  Boulevard just pushed out a 12 beer sampler pack that has 3 specialty brews in it, not available otherwise.
  • When in doubt I do booze or food.
  • You should see if you can find one of those black velvet paint by numbers of a rooster.
