Help with Fall leaves

Hello all and Happy Friday!

Ok, here is something I'm having a hard time figuring out...or if it's even possible.  Our venue is going to be outdoors (unless it rains) on a farm.  The theme is Fall in Love and needless to say, I will be using fall leaves for ALOT of my decorations.  The problem:  I want to use Fall colored leaves to line my aisle for the ceremony, probably will have some on the ground up front, the flowers girls will be tossing them and I was going to have people throw leaves when we exit the ceremony.  Ok, that's going to be a good bit of leaves!  The owners of the venue will only let you use real or natural things outside  which I can understand, however, how am I supposed to get a bunch of natural leaves already going through the change?  Our wedding is Oct 13, 2012.  I don't know if they will be changed enough that I could get a bunch like a week or two before our wedding or if there's something I could do with leaves this year...any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You can't predict whether the leaves will change/fall off trees by October 13th - not until a few weeks before given the temperatures, etc.

I think mid October is peak foliage, but that means leaves aren't falling off trees yet.  Saveoncrafts sells natural preserved leaves that you can buy... but I don't know if preserved is ok with your venue.  If not, I would re-think the decor.

My wedding is the same day and we are having an outdoor ceremony (depending on the weather though) and I initally had the same idea as you to have fall leaves lining the aisle for the ceremony.  But the venue has some pretty strict rules about decorations and such so our solution for ceremony aisle is that we are going to have a runner (My super crafty friend is making one for us) and then just cover the runner with the fake fall colored leaves.  That way when the ceremony is over the runner can rolled up with the leaves and there should be minimal fake leaf clean-up to do.

As for having guests throw leaves while you and your new H exit the ceremony, I would probably consider doing something else, b/c regardless of the fact if the leaves are fake or not, that is still a lot of leaves to clen-up/rake/etc.  My FI and I don't want guests blowing bubbles or anything like that so we are actually passing out small bells at the end of the ceremony and guests will ring the bells as we exit.  We chose that b/c its an old Irish tradition to have bells on the wedding day to keep the faries and demons away.  And since we're not getting married in a church, its a nice way to tie in our heritage and not go overboard on the whole obvious fall theme of our wedding.

I may come back with more ideas later!

    Good luck to you!
