A Priest in Western MI willing to do a outdoor ceremony?

I am in a pickle...I have always wanted to get married outside but I realize through the eyes of the catholic church that is not possible. I am looking to see if anyone knows a priest in the western MI area that would be willing to do an outdoor blessing if it were then followed by a church sacrament on the Saturday or Sunday following the outdoor ceremony on Friday? Thanks for you help!

If you are looking for a Catholic priest, anyone you find that would be willing to do this, will not be in good standing with the Church.  Would this Friday ceremony be your wedding where you officially become H&W?  Does the Catholic Church that will perform your sacrament know that it would actually be a convalidation because you would be legally married the day before?  They may not allow you to have the convalidation as it would be obvious you just wanted the pretty outdoor ceremony, rather than doing things the proper way in the Church.
  • You will not find a current Catholic priest who will do this. I have heard retired priests may, but then it will NOT be recognized by the Church and you will not be able to take communion until and unless you obtain a convalidation, which as PP said, is highly unlikely.

The short answer is that you need to decide if your venue or your faith is your priority.
  • If you want a Catholic wedding, you're not going to be able to do that outside. And if you have a fake blessing outside when you're actually getting married the following week, you're being rude to your guests.

You can still take tons of pretty outside pictures and have a lovely outdoor reception or cocktail hour if you want. And the Church never gets rained out.

    This, exactly.

We got married indoors in the Church and took some really awesome pictures outside on the Church grounds.

    Priorities.
